G-5 in One Piece

The G-5 is very close to the Red Line and it has several buildings that are shattered or broken and are only slightly fixed. Many of these buildings are left in ruins.

When Commodore Smoker and Tahigi transferred to G-5 after the Marineford War, Smoker was promoted to Vice Admiral and Tashigi was promoted to Captain. This transfer made Vergo uneasy, as he had to be extra cautious to prevent his true identity from being discovered by Smoker.

During the Punk Hazard Arc, Smoker and Tashigi followed the Straw Hats Pirates and they fought Trafalgar Law and then also Caesar Clown. When Vergo appears on the Island, he wanted to eliminate Smoker’s Division but he was stopped by Sanji and defeated by Smoker and Law. Many personnel was petrified of was H2S that Caesar released into the building. After Caesar, Vergo, and Monet’s defeat, Smoker states he contacted the base and they sent a ship to retrieve them.

When Doflamigo arrived and he started to attack Unit 01, including dealing Smoker heavy injuries. However, Kuzan arrived and stopped the Warlord. During the events Punk Hazard Arc, Jinbe delivered Caribou to the base, where he was tied to a stake. To rescue him Coribu and his crew attacked the base but were defeated by Yarisugi. Even though Caribou escaped, he deserted his crew at it’s cost.

The Marines of G-5 are insane, cruel, and merciless people. If they catch pirates they feed them to sharks or use them for campfire kindling. Regardless of their reputation, they are easily frightened when they meet highly infamous people like Law, Luffy, etc, they are even helpless against the dangers of nature as they panic easily.

G-5 has about 300 personnel split into six with Smoker in command of Unit 01 and Yarisugi of Unit 06. Virgo is the overall leader of G-5. The people living on G-5:

Vice Admiral Vergo

Vergo was known as the ‘ Demon Bamboo’ and was one of the four elite officers. He was the first to get the Heart sear of the Donquixote Pirates under the codename ‘Corazon’. He was a Marine Admiral and the head of G-5.

Vice Admiral Smoker

Smoker also known as 'The White Hunter' is a marine officer and the Commander of the G-5 Marine Base. He was first seen during the Loguetown Arc where he made it clear that he wanted to capture Luffy. After his work in Alabasta, he was promoted to Commodore.

Commodore Yarisugi

Yarisugi is a Marine Commodore of G-5 Unit 06. He is known to be very harsh and violent. He really enjoys torturing pirates.

Captain Tashigi

Tashigi is the Captain serving under Vice Admiral Smoker in the base of G-5. she was promoted to Ensign after her contribution to what went down in Alabasta. After the time skip she was promoted to Captain.

The other people who live on G-5 are Pike, Bomba, Bakezo, Jero, Gal and G-5 Marine Sailors.
