Little Oars Jr. and Portgas D. Ace were close friends in the past. Ace made a special gift for Little Oars Jr. - a hat called "kasa" that he learned to make in Wano Country. This hat protected Little Oars Jr. from rain, sun, and snow, making him very happy.

Marineford Arc

When Ace was sentenced to execution, Little Oars Jr. and his crew immediately joined Whitebeard's forces to rescue him. During the battle at Marineford, Little Oars Jr. fought fiercely against the Marines, even though he suffered severe injuries.

He was hit by attacks from powerful foes, like Kuma, Doflamingo, and Moria, but he kept pushing forward to reach Ace. Unfortunately, he collapsed on the battlefield, and many believed he had died from his wounds.

However, his fallen body unintentionally helped his allies. It landed on a section of the mechanical siege wall, making it difficult for the Marines to raise that part of the wall. His blood also clogged the gears of the machine, causing chaos among the Marines. This allowed his allies to infiltrate the Marines' defenses.

Little Oars Jr. later woke up and re-entered the battle. Whitebeard instructed him to help with a decisive tactic. He carried the last hidden ship of Whitebeard and his allies to safety, breaking through the siege wall he had landed on and reaching the plaza of Marineford.
