Maze Island is situated in the New World. This is where Marine Vice Admiral Balzac attempted to place a trap for the Straw Hat Pirates. The location is inspired by the Universal Studios Japan's WaterWorld stage.

Maze Island’s history isn’t known since it's a non-canon location. Its story involves a Marine Vice Admiral trying to set trap for the Straw Hat Pirates.
As the Straw Hat Pirates halted at Maze Island on their way to the Pirates Festival, Balzac and his underlings Comb and Glass came with the Prisoner Unit to prepare a trap for them. They battled the crew and Bentham after sharing their plans with Admiral Kizaru. The Straw Hat Pirates and Bentham defeated Balzac and his men.
Kizaru attacked Luffy and Bentham before they could leave the island, but Sabo arrived to save them. Together, Sabo and Luffy defeated Kizaru, and Sabo then fled. Bentham declined Luffy's invitation to accompany him to the expo in favor of returning to Level 5.5 to be with his Newkama supporters. The two departed from Maze Island and split up.
