This island is actually the result of a huge goldfish eating an entire island and excreting it as a waste. The Giant Warrior Pirates arrived on this island somewhere more than a century ago, mistaking it for dry land.
To assist the Straw Hat Pirates in reaching Arabasta, Miss All-Sunday gave Vivi an Eternal Pose to this island. But just as Vivi was debating whether or not to accept, Luffy pounced on the pose and smashed it, unwilling to let an enemy decide their course of action.
In Anime, the name in the Eternal Pose was displayed.
In Japanese, “Nanimonai” is the word for “nothing.” This has to do with the fact that the island isn’t actually an island.
Usopp once made up a story to explain to Kaya about defeating a massive goldfish and landing on its feces, believing it to be solid ground.
