Nanohana in One Piece

Nanohana is located to the south of Alubarna, east of Sandora River and west of Katorea. It is like your typical desert town with Islamic type architecture and has a crowded bazaar. It is also a port town where ships can dock and load and unload cargo. This place is also the main entrance for Alabasta. During the Utopia Operation, the majority of Nanohana was burned down and crushed by a runaway galleon that came in from the sea, this caused a huge loss to Nanohana. In the end, the citizens of Nanohana were able to repair the damages that were caused.

Spice Bean is a famous restaurant in Nanohana which is run by Yoshimoto. Portgas D. Ace ate here until he was approached by Smoker. At that moment Luffy crashed the establishment and accidentally launched both Ace and Smoker through the restaurant walls.

Three years ago, a Baroque Works agent had come to Nanohana in disguise and had brought a large shipment of Dance Powder into Nanohana. They had staged an accident in which the cart would break and the Dance Powder it contained got spilled. When they were taken to the King, they lied saying that the King had ordered for the Powder to be delivered to Alubarna, the city where it rained the most. Many people fled after this accident and started to doubt the King.

Nanohana was seen under attack by a pirate crew led by Puppu, who took advantage of the ongoing Civil War going on in the town. Crocodile went to Nanohana who was notified by Miss All Sunday, and easily defeated the invaders with his sand abilities. Mr. 3 then arrived at Nanohana from Little Garden and left his ship docked there and went to Spider's Cafe.

When the Straw Hats arrived at Nanohana, Luffy got hungry as the journey was quite long and stormed off into town without waiting for his crew. When he entered Spice Bean, he interrupted Ace's and Smoker's confrontation and knocked them through the wall without noticing. Smoker stood up and when Luffy realized who he was, he ran away leading the Marines straight to his crew. Just as Smoker was about to get his hands on the Straw Hats crew, Ace stepped in and created an escape route for them to escape.

Meanwhile, Mr. 11 who was captured on Smoker's ship escaped and while he was escaping, he got killed by a Billion from Baroque Works, in order to get a spot as one of the Frontier Agents in Baroque Works. When the Straw Hats escaped from Smoker and arrived back on the Going Merry, Luffy told his crew that the person who let them escape was his brother Ace. Ace then jumped aboard the Going Merry and met the crew. Before leaving, he gave Luffy a piece of his Vivre card and destroyed several Billion's ships on the way. Vivi also sent a message ahead with Karoo to warn the King of Alubarna.

During the Utopia Operation, Mr. 2 and the Billions working under him headed towards Nanohana under the disguise of Nefertari Cobra and the Royal Guards and pretended to apologize for the Dance Powder incident. With their fake apology, the fake Cobra ordered that Nanohana should be set on fire in order to erase the existence of the incident. Koza came all the way from Katorea to Nanohana to reason with the fake Cobra but got shot in the process by a Billion. Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger crashed into Nanohana's port which crashed half the town. This whole incident was planned by the mastermind Mr. 0 who had successfully riled up the population. A young local boy saw Mr. 2's ability at work and figured out that the real Cobra hadn't ordered Nanohana to be destroyed. Sadly the young local boy was caught by Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger, who tried to silence him. Luckily, the boy survived but he wasn't able to inform the Rebel Army of what he had seen.

Later on when Igaram, who had survived Miss All Sunday's attack recovered, arrived at Nanohana, and heard Kappa's (the local young boy) story, he brought him to Alubarna so that he could tell the rebel army and the royal soldiers of what he saw. After the Alabasta Arc was over, Nefertari Vivi gave a speech to her whole nation about her experience with the Straw Hats Pirates, and this motivated the people of Nanohana to fix all of the town's damages.

Kappa

Kappa is a young shoeshine boy in Nanohana. He was the only person who witnessed the true intention of Mr. 0's plan and ran to inform the Rebel Army.

Yoshimoto

Mr. Yoshimoto is the owner of Spice Bean. He deeply cares about his restaurant. He kept a smile when Luffy was about to eat all of his restaurant's food.

Portgas D. Ace

He was the captain of the Spade Pirates and later on joined the Whitebeard Pirates and became their Second Division Commander. He and Whitebeard shared a father-and-son-like relationship and he always looked out for Ace.
