Nikyu Nikyu no Mi in One Piece

The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants its user the ability to repel everything they touch. It is literally portrayed as paws on the user’s hands, transforming the person into a Paw Human. The paws are permanently imprinted on the user, as Kuma is usually seen wearing gloves while not using his talents. Bartholomew Kuma devoured this fruit.

History and Appearance of the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi

At some point in the past, Bartholomew Kuma consumed the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi fruit.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi

Strengths

The user’s primary power is the ability to force nearly anything they touch into paw-shaped bubbles and send it flying at an exceedingly high velocity. This includes both actual materials such as people and objects, and even gasses such as air, as well as intangible things such as ghosts created by the Horo Horo no Mi user, and physical agony.

This power also provides the user with exceptional fighting protection, allowing them to deflect or divert any assault. They can also use their abilities to undertake offensive movements such as repelling the air around them at fast speeds. These assaults are so strong that they can leave paw imprints in rock.

One common myth regarding this fruit’s abilities is that it allows its user to teleport at will. This assumption, however, is wrong. Rather than teleporting, Kuma uses his Devil Fruit power’s great speed to propel himself across specific distances, the speed of which is immediate, albeit he has not been witnessed propelling himself to another location.

Weaknesses

While users can deflect assaults, they must do so with their own hands. If the user’s hands are otherwise engaged, being caught off guard, they will take damage from an attack that could have been avoided. However, if the user has a means of shielding their bodies, such as Kuma’s transformation into a cyborg with stronger-than-steel armoring, this vulnerability can be compensated for. Aside from this one of a kind case, the user suffers from the normal Devil Fruit flaws.

Usage and Techniques of the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi

Kuma has used the fruit’s bestowed powers in a number of ways. The vast majority of them are attacks that, when carried out, create a paw-pad imprint similar to the pads on his palms.

Objects repelled by Kuma’s Devil Fruit powers travel at breakneck speeds. People who are repulsed by Kuma are sent flying through the air for three days and three nights inside a paw-shaped bubble that protects them from all obstacles in this path until they reach a spot named by Kuma. When they arrive, the bubble will vanish and the victim will land uninjured in the middle of a big paw print. This technique is known as Ryoko suru nara, Doko ni ikitai? (If you were to travel, where would you like to go??) in One Piece: Burning Blood.

Kuma can also use his abilities to expel pain and exhaustion from another person’s body. These sensations are then represented as a red bubble in the shape of a paw. Through direct physical contact with the bubble, the pain experienced by the original person can be transferred to another. This transfer leaves the recipient in excruciating pain, while the benefactor feels well and energized, despite the fact that their wounds remain unhealed.

Techniques

Pad Cannon

Kuma repels the air surrounding him, releasing a destructive shockwave at tremendous speed toward his opponents. The shock wave can pass through the victim’s body and continue into the distance, leaving paw prints in its wake. Anyone or everything in the blast’s Path suffers significant damage.

Puni

Kuma adopts a defensive posture, using his paw pads to repel and counter opposing blows.

Thrust Pad Cannon

Kuma begins by firmly planting both feet on the ground with a sumo-style foot stomp. Then, by repeatedly flinging his palms forward, he shoots a slew of “pressure bullets” at the enemy. The way he pushes his palms forward and the stance he adopts while performing this technique are reminiscent of sumo wrestling.

Ursas Shock

Kuma gathers air in his palms and compresses it into a massive bubble like a paw print. He releases the compressed air and sends it toward his opponent once the bubble is compact enough to fit within his hands. The air immediately decompresses, resulting in a tremendous explosion shaped like a bear paw.

He has demonstrated the ability to control the direction of the attack. Unfortunately for Kuma, this strike takes a long time to accomplish because of the volume of air required, and it also leaves Kuma susceptible to any attack because he must use both hands to form the attack. However, because of his Pacifista customizations, this may not be such a significant deal in Kuma’s situation.
