Rakesh is a port town located in the North Blue region. However, almost nothing is known about it. Interestingly, it was only named in the One Piece anime, whereas it remains unnamed in the manga.
Rakesh was first mentioned in chapter 762 of the One Piece manga. In the anime, it was stated that Rakesh was once allied with the Donquixote Pirates, captained by Doflamingo Donquixote. However, they started ailing with other groups. Doflamingo saw this as an act of betrayal and targeted the port town. This piece of information is anime only, making it non-canon.
Later, to send a message, Doflamingo sent five of his best crewmates- Gladius, Senor Pink, Giolla, Machvise, and Baby 5- to attack and destroy the port town for their betrayal. They shot many people and plundered the whole town.
