History and Appearance of the Tama Tama no Mi

At some point in the past, Tamago consumed the Tama Tama no Mi (Egg-Egg) Devil Fruit. The fruit’s appearance is unknown.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Tama Tama no Mi

Strengths

This Devil Fruit is unique for a Zoan-class. Instead of allowing the user to willingly transform into a hybrid or complete animal themselves, it gives the user the properties and form of an egg. The user’s body will crack open like an actual egg and unleash a yolk if they are struck with an attack that would seriously harm or even kill an ordinary person in their basic form, such as sword slash. After that, the destroyed body will be reduced to an empty shell as the user’s yolk develops into a stronger form with chicken-like traits.

The user can transform into a fully fledged chicken, which is the strongest power of this Devil Fruit, but should that form be severely injured, the process will repeat again, meaning the user will return to their basic form if the strongest form is destroyed. One of the main strengths of this Devil Fruit is that the user can effectively prevent dying in battle because of this never-ending loop.

Weaknesses

In contrast to other Zoan-type users who can fully transform into animal or hybrid forms at their will, the user of this Devil Fruit must be struck by a powerful blow in order to do so. The user can only be attacked and killed while in yolk form because they are utterly helpless in the transformation process. Also, some parts of the body cannot generate after they are hit or cut. Besides these, the user is vulnerable to the standard Devil Fruit flaws.

Usage and Techniques of the Tama Tama no Mi

Tamago has gained the name Baron Tamago from this fruit, which causes his body to resemble an egg both in shape and makeup. When his body is split open, a yolk emerges, and from it emerges his next form. He first transforms into Viscount Hiyoko, then Count Niwatori when Viscount Hiyoko is defeated.

Tamago has demonstrated the following abilities using his Devil Fruit powers:

Baron Tamago

Tamago has two main primary forms: Baron Tamago and Tamago Danshuku. In this form, he has an eggshell around his waist and shikomizue. He wears a shield that shields him from electro and is a master at quick assaults. He often adds French words in his speech while he is in this form.

Viscount Hiyoko

This is Tamago’s second form. His skin turns yellow and he acquires two knives, a beak, and tiny wigs. He is strengthened in this form, and Hiyoko has demonstrated greater speed and agility. In this form, Tamago often ends his statements with “peep”. Hiyoko is a Japanese term for “chick”.

Count Niwatori

This is Tamago’s third form. He still has his mustache in this form, just as in his previous form, and retains the appearance of an enormous white rooster with complete wings, a red wattle, and comb. This form is described as a “real knight”, although no evidence of its skill has been provided. He is incredibly tough in this form, enough to survive a massive explosion, and come out of it unharmed. In this form, he frequently punctuates his speech with a “cluck”, which is the onomatopoeia for the rooster cry “cock-a-doodle-doo”. Niwatori is a Japanese term for “chicken”.
