History of Weatheria

Weatheria is an artificially created island floating on the sky. The information regarding how or when it came to be has not yet been revealed in the series.

During the Straw Hat Pirates’ separation in the Sabaody Archipelago, Nami was sent here by Bartholomew Kuma. She spent two years here and gained surplus knowledge about the weather changes around the globe.

Layout of Weatheria

Weatheria is known for the study of weather conditions as well as technologies that can create different conditions, such as the Wind Knot, and appears to be floating on top of a huge bubble. With the wind, the island is constantly shifting, and it was last seen over the Sabaody Archipelago, when it caused rain to fall above the fourth backup platoon, destroying their gunpowder for assisting Nami.

Technology of Weatheria

Weatharia is inhabited by numerous researchers who study weather conditions and develop technologies that can be helpful in various circumstances. Some of those are:

Wind Knot

The Wind Knot is a wind-generating rope which is tied three times. A mild breeze arises from untying one knot, the second one unravels a strong breeze, and a storm can be created by untying the third one.

In the anime, Nami performed a technique to stop an approaching cycling using this rope and her Perfect Clima-Tact. It seems that the Wind Knot and other knots can be grown in a unique form of garden called a Weather Garden.

Weather Ball

This is the most important creation in Weatheria, and it is also grown in the Weather Garden. When Nami went to train, she asked Haredas how the Weather Balls work and if they can be made into weapons.

Balloon Ship

The Balloon Ship is also one of a kind invention of Weatheria. It is used to travel from Weatheria to any place on the surface back and forth.

Balloon Umbrella

Balloon umbrellas are also produced in Weatheria. It is not known whether they are grown the same way in the Weather Garden like the Wind Knot and Weather Balls.

Citizens of Weatheria

The majority of the people in this country appear to be tal, elderly men with long beards who are dressed like clichéd wizards. The citizens must act independently in the event of a crime because there appears to be no law enforcement in the country. Despite having a prison for criminals, they all appear to be quite helpless and naive and have no idea about how to deal with crime and violence.

The citizens here appear to make their living by momentarily landing on islands they pass by and offering temporary weather change for the locals, such as providing rain to a country that is suffering from a drought.

Given below is a list of main inhabitants of Weatheria:

Haredas

Haredas is an elderly man, who taught Nami about weather-manipulation during the timeskip.

Nami

Nami was sent to Weatheria during the Straw Hat Pirates’ separation during the Sabaody Archipelago events. She lived here for two years, and learned thoroughly about weather-manipulation under Haredas guidance.

Trivia

Weatheria is the only known artificial island in the One Piece series.
