When is the time skip in One Piece?

The time skip in the One Piece series comes in between chapters 597-598 in the manga and in between episodes 516-517 in the anime series.

The time skip in theOne Piece series refers to the 2 years gap that the members of the Straw Hat Pirates spent apart while training in their respective crafts on different islands. The time skip took place after the war at MarineFord. Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirate crew and the protagonist of the series, as well as the rest of the crew, spent 2 years training to prepare themselves for the New World.

After receiving a code from Luffy that contained the message for a 2 years break, the rest of the crew spent these 2 years expanding their horizons and training for the New World. Luffy spent these years training on the island of Rusukaina under the tutelage of The Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh and learned the use of all three Haki, the Observation Haki, Armament Haki, and the formidable Conquerors Haki. The rest did not slack off and trained themselves to become far stronger than their previous selves.

The time skip separated the One Piece story into two parts, marking the end of the Sea of Survival: Rookies Saga and the beginning of a new saga, The Final Sea: The New World Saga.
