Charlotte Perospero in One Piece

Past

Charlotte Perospero is the firstborn of the Charlotte Family. As a child, Perospero told Katakuri that he would be able to make friends if he hid his eel-looking mouth. He was worried when he got to know that Brulee‘s face was cut and asked Katakuri to beat the bullies up to get revenge. Perospero took Pedro out of Totto Land after Big Mom took 50 years out of his life. Perospero was later ordered to construct an identical lab to Caesar Clowns on Punk Hazard. After creating the lab with candy and including the details that were there in the blueprints Big Mom got, he also reinforced the building with iron to ensure there is no danger.

Whole Cake Island Arc

Perospero and his army were in charge of restraining the Vinsmoke Family and when the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance was leaving Totto Land, the Big Mom Pirates started chasing them. While they were trying to escape them, Pedro encountered Perospero and to not let him catch up with the group he lit up the bomb stash in his jacket which caused a massive explosion. Perospero survived the blast but Pedro did not.

Wano Country Arc

During the Wano Country Arc, Perospero is battling Wanda and Carrot who want to take revenge on him for killing Pedro. Carrot and Wanda were able to harm Perospero in their Sulong form. Perospero was finally able to defeat Carrot and Wanda after the full moon got covered and they turned back to normal. This is when he sarcastically asks Carrot if she was actually about avenging Pedro in their current form. Later, Nekomamushi fought Perospero personally so that he could avenge Pedro and he successfully defeated Perospero in his Sulong form.

Perospero is known to be really sadistic and enjoys torturing others by saying that he’ll turn people into candy and lick them to death. He does not get scared easily but he is really terrified of his mother, Big Mom. He can also be unreasonable and selfish and can blame anyone for accomplishing his own goals. He would kill innocent people for the sake of his mother. He also has a strong will and does not stray away from his orders. Just like his mom, Perospero really loves sweets and loves licking his giant candy cane. Perospero showed that he really cared for Totto Land and its people and was willing to risk his own life and lie to Big Mom from rampaging into the city.

He can be lenient at times, when he lets Brook and Chopper have a chance to escape. He can be very affectionate and kind towards kids and even allowed them to eat candy. He also cared for his siblings and will do anything to save them. He can be very arrogant and does not understand his enemies when he thought that the Straw Hats were not going to escape from Big Mom. This trait makes him want to toy with his enemies and gloat to them whenever he has the upper hand in a fight. He likes to prolong his battles by toying with them. He is really proud of his bounty and thinks that he will become the next captain of the Big Mom Pirates as he is the eldest in the family.

Charlotte Perospero is very tall and slim, with brown eyes, a pointed nose, and pink lips with a very long, thick tongue. Perospero is usually seen smiling, but whenever he is threatened, his expression changes from a smile to horror. He is seen wearing a long, yellow coat with a tall light colored collar with top buttons that look like large, purple and pink striped pieces of wrapped candy. The bottom of his coat has a checkered design with large beads along them. He also wears a dark-colored beaded bracelet on his wrists with his sharp fingernails painted in a dark color.

He wears an orange and red striped hat that has a rainbow-colored lollipop with a large pink plume. He also has something that is large and navy blue with baby blue polka-dots that comes from under his hat and curves upwards. He carries around a large magenta and pink candy cane with a curled top which he likes to lick. After getting into the massive blast by Pedro, Perospero lost his right arm which he replaced with a candy prosthetic. As a child, Perospero wore orange and white striped pants with brown and white shoes. He wore a coat that was similar to the one he wears currently.

Perospero is known to be very crafty when he improvised on a plan with an effective strategy on the spot by binding the enemy with his candy and leaving them at the mercy of his siblings as they prepared to shoot them to death. Despite this, Perospero has a bad habit of toying with his enemies rather than killing them off and this cost him his right arm. He has fast reflexes as he managed to spot and block Pedro’s attack despite his speed. Despite his skinny structure, he possesses great endurance and is an enhanced fighter with superhuman strength. Perospero can even recover even if he does not receive treatment but he does become weak if his wounds are left untreated for hours.

Devil Fruit

With the help of the Pero Pero no Mi, Perospero can make an infinite amount of candy. He can even make it move like a machine. The candy that Perospero makes is edible. When the candy hardens, it becomes extremely strong and it can even take down a person. He can even use it to travel across the ocean by riding a mass of it around since it is not even impacted by water. Perospero shows his devil fruit power by making an escalator and as he is an artisan, he is quite proud of his craftsmanship.

Haki

Perospero had the ability to use Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki.

Weapons

Perospero uses his devil fruit to make candy weapons. He uses his candy cane staff to block sword strikes without taking damage. He also creates a candy bow to fire volleys of candy arrows as well as a candy ax.

Charlotte Linlin

Perospero has a deep connection to Big Mom. In exchange, Big Mom gives Perospero the responsibility of caring for Caesar Clown and even allows him to participate in her plan to kill the Vinsmoke Family. Perospero acted swiftly to defend his mother with a wall of candy when Capone Bege attempted to assassinate Big Mom in his huge fortress. Despite his unwavering commitment to his mother, he is not above using her, during her irrational outbursts, to his advantage. He once tricked her into pursuing the Straw Hat Pirates while she craved the wedding cake. In addition, Perospero is absolutely scared of his mother, and he voiced great fear when Big Mom threatened to kill him as a punishment for lying.

Siblings

Perospero seems to get along well with most of his siblings. Perospero and his younger brother Katakuri seem to get along, and he is one of the few people who did not make fun of Katakuri as a child for having an eel-like mouth. In contrast, Daifuku thinks Katakuri should lead the Big Mom Pirates because he is more capable, while Perospero feels this because he is the firstborn and will succeed Big Mom if she dies. Being the oldest and holding a position of power on the crew, they get along well and show respect for one another, as seen by their conversations with Brook and Chopper on The Thousand Sunny.

Caesar Clown

Charlotte Perosperos kept Caesar Clown under observation while he conducted his research. Caesar’s heart was taken by Perospero, who threatened to turn him into candy if his task was not completed in two weeks. Later, Caesar lost to Perospero and Capone Bege got the scientist's heart.

Straw Hat Pirates

Perospero sees the Straw Hat Pirates as rivals, just like the rest of his family. Perospero tried to kill the Vinsmokes during the Straw Hats' rampage at the wedding, but Luffy stopped him by making Big Mom cry, rendering Perospero helpless. Perospero was able to stop the Straw Hats and the others from escaping. He then laughed at the situation. He went to Wano Country with his mother to exact revenge because of his hatred for the Straw Hats.

Capone Bege

Perospero had trusted Bege because of his loyalty to Big Mom. Bege freed the scientist for his own purposes when Perospero gave him Caesar Clown's heart. He was confused by Bege's conduct at the wedding ceremony when he revealed his true nature and prevented Perospero from killing the Vinsmoke Family. When Perospero regained control, he blocked Bege's cannon fire by building a candy wall to stop him from attacking his mother. Bege was unable to flee because Perospero had covered his enormous castle in candy and was making fun of the situation he was in.

Mink Tribe

The Mink Tribe, especially Carrot, Wanda, and Nekomamushi, hate Perospero because he was the reason why Pedro died.
