Tamago in One Piece

Past

When Pedro and the Nox Pirates came to Big Mom’s territory to find poneglyphs, Tamago was the one who fought against Pedro and lost his left eye in the process. After he drove Pedro out of Totto Land, his crewmate Pekoms joined the Big Mom Pirates and became Tamago’s partner in collecting Big Mom’s candy tributes.

Fishman Island

During the Fishman Island arc, Tamago is seen scolding Pekoms for threatening the citizens. He told him that if he does this then it would not help them collect the monthly candy and also warned the people of Fishman Island that if they did not pay up then Big Mom would destroy Fishnam Island.

When Monkey D. Luffy tried to exchange the candy with money to Big Mom, Tamago reasoned with her saying that she should take it up as they needed the money because Euastass Kid had sunk two of their Pirate Ships. Big Mom scolded Tamago for trying to make a compromise and demanded that Luffy meet her in the New World to sort this out.

Regardless of what happened, Fishman Island was pardoned this one time as Luffy had intervened and two envoys of treasure were given in compensation including the Tamatebako. After Tamago took the treasure he was attacked by Caribou but Pekoms easily defeated them and then they went on their way.

Punk Hazard

During the Punk Hazard Arc. Tamago and Pekoms saw Caesar Clown’s broadcast about his upcoming weapon of mass destruction via the Den Den Mushi. After they saw Luffy defeat Caesar, Tamago said that they should call and inform Big Mom of this.

Dressrosa

During the Dressrosa Arc, Tamago, Pekoms, and the Fire Tank Pirates were seen pursuing the Curly Hat Pirates so that they could claim Caesar. During the pursuit, they were surprised that the Curly Hats fought back and managed to escape.

Zou

After taking Sanji from Zou, Tamago spoke with Sanji and tried to convince him to accept Big Mom’s offer to join her crew.

Whole Cake Island

Tamago was the one who gave Vinsmoke Judge the exploding wristlets to be put on Sanji if Sanji tried to resist. Later on, Tamago took Charlotte Pudding to try on wedding dresses despite her saying that she had other things to do. He later on found out that Pekoms was missing and got to know about the Sanji Retrival except two of the people from the Sanji Retrieval Team were in Seducing Woods.

He guessed that one of the unknown people would be Pedro and since he had encountered him before he had a faint idea as to where Pedro would be. He told his men to find Pekoms and make sure that he is uninjured. As he knew what Pedro had come for Tamago increased the security of the Room of Treasures as that was the place where all the three Poneglyphs that Big Mom had were kept.

After getting to know that Pedro was spotted he sent his men after and in the meanwhile Brook managed to sneak into the Room of Treasure. When Smoothie told Tamago about a second intruder in the Room of Treasure aka Brook he told her to capture him alive so that Big Mom could add him to her collection. Meanwhile, Pedro fought Tamago’s men and when Tamago arrived he reminisced about their first meeting and reminded Pedro that Big Mom had already extracted 50 years of lifespan to which Pedro replied that he had no intention of leaving Whole Cake Island.

They fought a gruesome battle where Tamago evolved a lot with the help of his devil fruit abilities. He first into Viscount Hiyoko who gave him a chicken beak and wings and after he was cut he evolved into Count Niwatori. Pedro then set off a large collection of explosives that were in his jacket which caused a large explosion that caught Niwatori (Tamago) and his men in it. Tamago survived this explosion and then went to attend a meeting with the Big Mom Pirates to discuss how to deal with the Sanji retrieval Team as well as the Vinsmoke Family. AsTamago was under the impression that Pedro had blown himself up in the process, he told the rest of the Big Mom Pirates that Pedro was dead.

Tamago then gave instructions to Mont-d’Or and coordinated with him to pursue the Straw Hats. when Pekoms got to know about Pedro’s supposed death he was sad and Tamago gave him his condolences. He even pointed out that they should not underestimate the Straw Hats due to the unexpected set of incidents that have taken place since they arrived. Later on, Tamago started to panic when he got to know that Pekoms had helped the Straw Hats in reaching Cacao Island and that Germa 66 had also come to the island. Tamago was later relieved to know that Big Mom’s craving was satisfied.

Tamago is usually seen making egg-related puns like when he refers to inexperienced people as ‘half-boiled eggs’ or when people are ignorant he calls them ‘raw’. He is very polite and prefers to negotiate rather than fight. He is very intelligent which is seen when he tells Big Mom that she should accept the money.

He even gave the people of Fishman Island more time to prepare the candy. Tamago hates people who are very arrogant but the irony is that he sometimes tends to boast about himself. He follows his mission orders to the T and will go to any lengths to complete his missions. This shows how loyal Tamago is to Big Mom and get very angry at those who betray her. Tamago does not follow the Longleg Tribe’s trend of exposing and decorating his long legs.

Tamago has very long and lanky thin legs which make him very tall. He has wrinkles on his forehead, a big mustache that curls upwards and wears sunglasses. He has a scar over his left eye which he lost in a fight against Pedro. He wears a magenta cup full of hot tea and saucer which he drinks tea from on his head.

He is seen wearing magenta pants which are in the shape of an eggshell. He wears a formal magenta tuxedo with a pink shirt underneath with a yellow bowtie. He also carries a long wooden can with him.

When he is Viscount Hiyoko, he has yellow skin color and his arms and legs turn into wings. He is also seen wearing a yellow suit with white pants. As Count Niwatori he looks like a larger rooster who is wearing a pale pink suit.

Tamago is extremely strong even though his physique is disproportionate. He is able to lift heavy things with his arms very easily. As he is a member of the Longleg Tribe his legs are his strong suit but at the same time, they are also his weakness too. He is capable of performing rapid kicks which are powerful that they can send his enemies crashing into walls.

Due to the length of his leg, his kicks also have great range and are capable of clashing directly against a blade with no repercussions. He wears special tights that protect him from electric attacks.

Tamago is also a very skilled swordsman and is able to hold his own in a fight. He uses his sword skills in conjunction which his leg attacks which provide him with great offensive skills. He improves his swordsmanship by evolving it with his Devil Fruit powers and when he is in his Viscount Hiyoko form he has great speed and agility in wielding dual knives.

Devil Fruit

Tamago ate the Tama Tama no Mi which is a Zoan-Type Devil Fruit. This gives him the ability to transform his body composition to that of an egg, his external body becomes an eggshell with a giant yolk inside. If the eggshell body takes significant damage then it would break. Once it is broken Tamago regenerates from it and becomes evolved into a stronger chicken-like form. He has three forms:

• Baron Tamago: his base form

• Viscount Hiyoko: this form resembles a chick

• Count Niwatori: this form resembles a rooster

It is said that he becomes stronger each time he regenerates and evolves and becomes a ‘true knight’ when he reaches his third form. If his strongest form gets destroyed then he goes back t his base form. This endless cycle of transformations prevents him from dying in battle, as long as his yolk is not destroyed in the midst of an evolution.

Haki

Tamago possessed the ability to use Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki. Tamago is not yet seen using his haki in battle as he relies solely on his devil fruit abilities.

Weapons

Tamago is seen carrying a pistol, a shikomizue. When he transforms into Viscount Hiyoko he uses two knives.

Charlotte Linlin

Tamago is afraid of Big Mom and prefers not to tell her bad news because he does not want to be a victim of her ensuing anger. Despite this, he still has the guts to argue with her and make an attempt to correct her when she is enraged, like when he advised that she take the Straw Hats' offer of money rather than sweets in order to restore ships that the Eustass Kid had wrecked.

Tamago does appear to have some value in Big Mom's eyes. She was upset with Pedro for damaging Tamago's left eye, but she became less upset when Pedro removed his own left eye. Tamago is utterly devoted to his commander, furious to find that Bege had been planning to kill her.

Pekoms

Pekoms and Tamago get along well as they are coworkers that together collect the candy payment for Big Mom. Tamago talks with their clients on Pekoms' behalf and calms him when he becomes angry. Tamago supported Capone Bege's decision to murder Pekoms when he failed to complete the task, demonstrating that he prioritizes his missions over his teammates.

Nevertheless, he had planned to ask Big Mom for forgiveness when he learned of Pekoms' survival and arrival on the island as they had a long history. Tamago was shocked when Pekoms betrayed his crew to help Luffy.

Charlotte Smoothie

In spite of the fact that she was superior to Tamago in rank, Sweet Commander Smoothie seemed to appreciate him. When Smoothie found he was correct that Pedro had an accomplice who broke into the treasure chamber, he even apologized to him.

Straw Hat Pirates

At first, Tamago was extremely cooperative with the Straw Hat Pirates, willing to accept their offer of treasure and talking to them in pleasant conversation. While the Sanji Retrieval Team was in the Seducing Woods, he also ordered Big Mom's soldiers to keep an eye on their every move.

Given that Pedro was prepared to give his life for them, Niwatori seems to have understood the crew's luck. He made an effort to urge his crew not to underestimate them in light of what had happened since their arrival, but his concerns were ignored.

Pedro

Pedro is someone Tamago had already met when he previously tried to steal some poneglyphs from Big Mom. He appears to be extremely careful about mink since he would possibly want a Sweet Commander's help to ensure Pedro's failure in his attempt to take the poneglyphs they have taken possession of. When Tamago came out to face Pedro when he was cornered in Big Mom's courtyard and made fun of him for his futile attempt.

Pedro was the one who took Tamago's left eye but despite that, Tamago, who respected Pedro for his goodwill, was sad when he found out about Pedro’s suspected death. Pedro's selflessness also provided Tamago with an entirely new perspective on the Straw Hats.

Capone Bege

Tamago was enraged to find that Bege had betrayed the crew by attempting to murder Big Mom since he had the highest regard and trust for him as a Rook of the Big Mom Pirates.
