Based on the recent chapters, up to chapter 1061, there are two characters in the One Piece series who can be categorized as the main villain in the One Piece series. These two individuals are Imu and Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard. It is still unclear who will be the final antagonist but as things stand right now, fan theories are more inclined toward Imu being the final antagonist in the series.

There is very little information is available about Imu. Imu first appeared in Episode 885 of the One Piece anime, with the title, In the Dark Recesses of Holyland - A Mysterious Giant Straw Hat. Imu is supposedly the ruler of the World Government, to whom even the Five Elders bow. Although it said that the Empty Throne at the center of the world at the Pangaea Castle signifies that there is no ruler of the world, it was revealed that Imu is the one who sits on the Empty Throne, signifying the Imu is essentially the ruler of the world.
So far, not much is known about Imu so it is hard to tell what his/her goals are. But based on the premise and Imu’s introduction, there is a high probability Imu will play the role of an antagonist and may even be the main antagonist of the series.
Marshall D. Teach, popularly known as Blackbeard, is currently one of the Four Emperors of the Sea in the New World. He is one of the most notorious and conniving pirates known in the One Piece World. He used to be a member of Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard’s, pirate crew. He killed one of his comrades and fled from the Whitebeard’s crew. He then defeated Portgas D. Ace and handed him over to the Navy, which resulted in the Paramount War.
Near the end of the Paramount War, when Whitebeard was at his weakest, he and his crew shot Whitebeard, his former captain, to death. After Whitebeard’s death, he attacked and defeated the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates and replaced Whitebeard as the Emperor of the Sea. Without any doubt, his actions have earned him a bad reputation, even among pirates. Based on his actions so far, he is most likely to be the main antagonist after Imu.
Although these two are the main contenders to be the main antagonist, it is still too soon to tell. The One Piece series is far from over and before that, it is almost impossible to predict or conclude who is the main villain. For now, the fans just need to sit tight and see the mystery unfold itself.
A. In his latest estimate about the expected ending of the series in 2020, Eiichiro Oda, the writer and illustrator of the series, predicted that the series will end in 4 years. If everything goes to plan, One Piece should be concluded in 2024 or 2025.
