In contrast to the Marineford headquarters, which had elements of old Japanese architecture, the New Marine Headquarters is primarily constructed with a western design. Its most prominent feature is the base's two enormous arches that meet in the middle. A circular stone wall with turrets surrounds the bottom, and rising above the wall from inside is a stone tower with the Headquarters situated on top. Similar to the one on Marineford, the main Headquarters building has an old Japanese style with a big entryway and an upper structure in the shape of a pagoda.

The One Piece Film: Z, which takes place after the time jump, depicts a different version of the Marine Headquarters base, looking more like a traditional Marine Base with its numerous towers built into the island and wave-imitating paint job, giving it a much more aggressive feel, probably alluding to the fact that the new headquarters used to be G-1 and was thus initially a typical Marine fortress base.
