History and Appearance of the Zou Zou no Mi

At some point in the past, Spandam’s sword “consumed” the Zou Zou no Mi (Elephant-Elephant) Devil Fruit. The fruit bestowed life to a non-living creature, turning it into an Elephant.

The fruit’s appearance is unknown.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Zou Zou no Mi

The fruit’s most basic strength is that it grants its owner elephant-like qualities, such as increased size and sheer strength. The fruit’s most significant strength in the case of Spandam’s sword is that it has given life to an otherwise inanimate thing. Spandam now has a one-of-a-kind weapon, which he can use to fight.

So far, the fruit doesn’t have any specific weaknesses apart from the standard Devil Fruit flaws.

However, considering the circumstances surrounding it, the animal created from this fruit has a little weakness with it. While the fruit gave Spandam’s sword the power and intelligence of an elephant, it also gave the sword some common sense when it came to fearing bodily pain and death. While the sword was not alive to begin with, it gets terrified of being slain in the same way that a real elephant would. In other words, the power of the fruit placed in the sword a fear of being killed.

Usage and Techniques of the Zou Zou no Mi

Spandam’s sword Funkfreed has demonstrated the following techniques under his master’s command:

Ivory Dart (Ivory Rush)

It is a non-lethal attack Funkfreed employs to disable its opponent by extending its body rapidly to deliver a strong headbutt. Another possibility for this technique is that if the trunk were a sword, it will trap and slice the target.

Elephant Chop

Funkfreed transforms into his elephant-sword hybrid form and rushes forward to spear an opponent with his sword-trunk as Spandam swings the sword over his head.
