McGuy and his crew were among the 43 infamous pirate crews allied with the Whitebeard Pirates when they attacked Marineford to rescue Portgas D. Ace from his impending execution.
During the chaotic battle, when Squard stabs Whitebeard due to being deceived by Admiral Akainu, McGuy, and the other pirates are shocked by the turn of events.
