Perona, better known as "Ghost Princess," was the leader of the Wild Zombies and Surprise Zombies before Thriller Bark's collapse. She was one of the Mysterious Four. She reluctantly assisted and collaborated with Roronoa Zoro whilst in Dracule Mihawk's residence on Kuraigana Island following the defeat of Gecko Moria's army and throughout the time skip.

Perona has a very immature, silly, and youthful mentality. She regularly follows her own whims and behaves selfishly. She detests others telling her what to do and going against her wishes. However, she usually sticks with Gecko Moria and seems to view him as a father figure because she cried to return to him when she was sent to Kuraigana Island.
She attended to Zoro's wounds after he appeared on Kuraigana, revealing a willingness to befriend even those she had previously known as enemies and proving that she is capable of kindness despite her typically ruthless behavior.
She enjoys cute things intensely and will only hire attractive people to work for her. Her ultimate goal is to establish a kingdom where all the adorable creatures have been transformed into zombie animals who serve her alone. She has a somewhat childlike perspective on several matters due to her fondness for cute things. In battle, she displays fun behavior. Perona, like many others, has a distinctive laugh incorporating the word Horo (e.g., "Horo-horo-horo-horo!") because her Devil Fruit is called the Horo Horo no Mi.
Perona screamed and sobbed as Usopp covered her in artificial bugs because she suffers from katsaridaphobia or fear of cockroaches. She is also gullible because she didn't doubt Usopp's apparent lifting of a 10-ton hammer. She fainted in shock when he attacked her with it, even though she wasn't hurt.
She is confident that she can defeat anyone with the help of her Devil Fruit abilities. She has matured since the time skip, yet she still travels with a teddy bear. As she tearfully thanked Dracule Mihawk for allowing her to stay on his island, she showed a side of gratitude.
Perona is a petite young lady with enormous, rounded eyes. She wears her long, light pink hair in two pigtails and fastens them with black and white flower hairpins. She has a red crown with a black cross on her head, red lipstick, and heavy black eyeliner.
Before the timeskip, her long-sleeved white shirt featured three distinct black heart shapes and was short enough to reveal her stomach. She had a pink ribbon on the front of her red mini-cape. She wore a miniskirt, a red and gold belt with a heart belt buckle, red buckled boots, and black and white striped tights that totally covered her legs.
She typically walks with her toes pointed inward like a pigeon and carries a crimson parasol formed like a cute little mini devil. When she was a child, Perona had the same parasol, wore the same crown and hairpins, but her hair was pulled back into thicker pigtails. She wore a plain red dress with a white wave pattern, dots around the center, and smaller red boots. She was accompanied by a bear named Kumae and had a ghost doll on a leash.
The two-year time skip has given Perona a more mature appearance than before. She is sporting a long, strapless black dress with lavender frills, red high-heeled boots, and a large, black top hat decorated with white flowers. She wears pink nail paint on her fingernails and has a pink bat tattoo on her left bicep. She also wears a watch on her left wrist. She still carries a replica of Kumashi in a plush animal and her trademark parasol. She now has several spiral braids in her hair on the back of her head.
Perona, a former member of the Mysterious Four, had several zombies under her control before leaving Thriller Bark. Her former crewmate, Doctor Hogback, recognizes her service when working for Moria.
Perona has demonstrated physical strength by carrying Kumashi's body, which is larger than she is while levitating with her Devil Fruit abilities. She also frequently cooked while she shared a home with Mihawk for two years.
Perona consumed the Horo Horo no Mi, a Paramecia Devil Fruit that allows her to summon and command spirits. The victims' spirits are said to be hollowed out by the ghosts, which can sap their energy, confidence, and will to survive. She can also conjure more giant ghosts that produce an even more destructive blast and lesser ghosts that erupt with enough force to destroy stone walls.
Another way she used her ghosts was to create a "Ghost Network" for spying. Additionally, the ghosts can multiply into more in numbers. She can expel her spirit from her body and produce others. She can travel through solid objects and is unaffected by vicious attacks thanks to the complete intangibility of her ghostly form. Yet, she cannot physically harm anything or engage in a physical battle with anyone in this form. Her ghost may also adjust the size of her spectral body and levitate. When she does this, her actual body is still asleep and unprotected.
She appears to understand that bandages can aid a victim of injury, but she lacks medical knowledge. The first time she encountered Zoro, she had covered him head to toe with bandages, tending to his wounds. However, despite this flaw, she possesses common sense or sufficient medical understanding, as Zoro healed from his injuries.
She proved that she at least has a basic understanding of navigation when she brought Zoro from Kuraigana Island to the Sabaody Archipelago.
For at least ten years, Perona followed Gecko Moria, her master. She tried to flee and leave him when she felt defeated, pointing out that she had simply stayed with him for fun, demonstrating how conflicted her allegiance to him was.
She may not express it, but Moria is said to be her father because he found and raised her since she was a youngster. Perona was thrilled to learn that Moria was still alive and left Mihawk's palace as soon as possible to find him.
Perona developed a bad relationship with one specific Straw Hat Pirate while they were on Thriller Bark. She looked down on Nami and felt sorry for Usopp. She was also angry at the latter because he was a natural enemy to her negative hollows.
She was startled to see Zoro on Kuraigana Island, but she chose to tend to his wounds because he was the only other person there. The two argued at first, but after living on the island with Dracule Mihawk for two years, they came to trust each other. In addition, she voluntarily returned Zoro to the Sabaody Archipelago. She later fought the Marines' advances so the Straw Hats might flee.
Perona chose to settle in the castle, once the home of Warlord Mihawk, after being transported to Kuraigana Island thanks to Kuma's powers. Although he didn't show her any additional hospitality, Mihawk appeared to have agreed or simply didn't mind letting her stay with him.
