Jack’s History

Twenty years ago, during a tragic event, Kaido attacked Oden Castle in an attempt to eliminate the Kozuki Family. At that time, three individuals named King, Queen, and Jack were present. Jack, who was just eight years old, was able to find the Road Poneglyph, an important artifact, in the underwater part of Wano Country due to being a fish-man. Later on, he ate a Devil Fruit called Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth, which granted him the ability to transform into a mammoth but made him unable to swim.

Seventeen days before Monkey D. Luffy and Trafalgar D. Law's arrival at Zou, Jack and his crew attacked the Mokomo Dukedom. They demanded the surrender of a ninja named Raizo, but the minks refused to comply.

In frustration, Jack destroyed buildings with his trunk and ordered his subordinates, the Pleasures, to attack. However, the minks defended themselves using their Electro ability, and their leader, Monjii, warned Jack that all minks were skilled warriors. Jack declined to speak with the Duke of the Minks and commanded his followers, the Gifters, to attack.

During the battle, Duke Inuarashi confronted Jack while trying to reason with him. Inuarashi offered to allow Jack to search for Raizo if he stopped the destruction, but Jack attacked him instead. The two engaged in combat until 6 P.M. when they temporarily ceased fighting. After Inuarashi's departure, Master Nekomamushi arrived and slammed Jack to the ground. In response, Jack reverted to his fish-man form and prepared to continue the battle.

The battle between Jack and the Mink Tribe lasted for five days, with Inuarashi and Nekomamushi's forces taking turns fighting against Jack and his continuous reinforcements. Despite the minks having an advantage over Jack's subordinates, they struggled to defeat Jack himself.

On the fifth day, Jack, growing impatient, used a poisonous gas called Koro to incapacitate the minks and claim victory. With the minks helpless, Jack tortured their strongest members to extract information about Raizo, causing Inuarashi to lose a leg and Nekomamushi to lose an arm. The following day, Jack learned about the defeat and capture of Doflamingo and promptly left Zou to rescue him, leaving some of his subordinates behind.

Dressrosa Arc

A few days later, Jack followed closely behind the four Marine Ships that were transporting Doflamingo to Impel Down. Despite being informed about the presence of formidable Marine guards, Jack stubbornly refused to retreat and instead readied himself to launch an assault on the Marine ships.

Zou Arc

After the assault on Doflamingo's Marine escort, it was initially reported that Jack had managed to sink two of the ships but was ultimately defeated by the Marines. However, the news of his death remained uncertain.

Contrary to the reports, Jack actually survived the battle, although he suffered injuries. He was seen being bandaged and taking rest after the intense fight. While sailing back to Zou with his fleet and damaged ship, Jack came across a newspaper proclaiming his supposed demise, which angered him, leading him to tear it apart in frustration.

When Sheepshead and his group returned to Jack with the news that Raizo was not on Zou, Jack was displeased and brutally punished Sheepshead before hanging him upside down. Shortly after, Jack returned to Zou with the intention of completely wiping out the Mink Tribe by killing the giant elephant that carried Zou.

Jack initiated his attack by ordering his men to bombard the elephant's leg with cannon fire. However, Kozuki Momonosuke commanded Zunesha, the elephant, to counterattack the Beasts Pirates. Obliging Momonosuke's order, Zunesha swung its trunk at the fleet. Jack, frozen in terror, watched as the massive trunk approached, unable to do anything to stop the impending disaster.

Meanwhile, his subordinates fled in fear. Zunesha's trunk struck Jack, shattering his mask and rendering him unconscious, while all of his ships were destroyed in a single devastating blow.

Jack sank beneath the water along with the wreckage of his fleet, but he managed to survive. However, being a Devil Fruit user, he was unable to move in the water and impatiently awaited rescue by someone from his crew.

Wano Country Arc

After being rescued, Jack returned to Wano Country before Monkey D. Luffy's arrival. He learned about the defeat of Holed'em at the hands of Luffy and Roronoa Zoro. In his search for Luffy, Jack went to Okobore Town where he encountered a thief named Shutenmaru. Jack tried to recruit the thief to join Kaido's forces, but Shutenmaru responded by attacking Jack.

Their fight was interrupted by the arrival of Kaido, who ordered Jack to bring Luffy and Law to him. Jack noticed that Kaido was drunk and feared his unpredictable behavior. Hawkins then appeared and redirected Kaido's attention to Oden Castle, explaining his motives to Jack. When Kaido destroyed Oden Castle, Jack remarked on Kaido's madness.

At Onigashima, Jack faced scolding from his fellow All-Stars, King and Queen, due to the decrease in offerings from Kuri. Feeling small in their presence, Jack could only apologize quietly. When Big Mom was brought to Onigashima, Jack questioned Queen about her presence on the island, and Queen angrily explained that communications in Udon were cut off. The three All-Stars observed as Kaido released Big Mom and engaged in a clash with her.

During the early stages of the Fire Festival, Jack participated in a meeting with Kaido, King, and the Tobiroppo. Kaido assigned the Tobiroppo the task of finding his son, Yamato, and offered them a chance to challenge the All-Stars for their positions if they succeeded. Both Jack and King had no objections to this.

Later, Jack stood alongside his fellow All-Stars and Kaido on the Live Stage of the Golden Kagura, where Kaido announced his intention to make the execution of Momonosuke more exciting with the New Onigashima Project.

As Kaido prepared to execute Momonosuke after dealing with Orochi, the Red Scabbards and Izou surprised the All-Stars and Kaido by launching a full-scale attack. Kaido and the All-Stars were caught off guard when the Scabbards and minks transformed into their powerful Sulong forms. In the ensuing battle, Jack sustained numerous injuries while fighting against the minks.

He was eventually confronted and attacked by Inuarashi and Nekomamushi. Although Jack managed to defeat many of the minks, he and his troops were overwhelmed, and Kaido intervened just in time to save Jack from being killed. Kaido ordered Jack to rest and tend to his wounds.

After partially recovering from his injuries, Jack decided to head to the second-floor treasure room, where the Scabbards were located, with the intention of personally killing the samurai. Inuarashi confronted Jack alone, knowing that Jack couldn't use his chemical weapons inside the castle, and Jack acknowledged that Inuarashi wouldn't have access to his Sulong form either.

As they fought, Jack's subordinates kept Inuarashi occupied while he focused on battling the All-Star. However, the situation became chaotic when Tama's abilities caused the Gifters to turn against Jack's crewmates, confusing Jack.

In his powerful hybrid form, Jack lunged at Inuarashi, his words dripping with mockery and defiance, urging the Mink leader to surrender and embrace his impending demise. Jack even claimed to have forgiven the Minks for their lies in their attempts to protect Raizo. However, Inuarashi swiftly reacted, seizing Jack by his trunk and skillfully utilizing his opponent's own momentum and weight against him.

With tremendous force, Inuarashi hurled Jack through the wall of the treasure room, sending him crashing into the courtyard beyond. Despite the impact, Jack quickly regained his footing, his determination unwavering. Inuarashi closed in on him, his gaze blazing with fierce determination.

Suddenly, through a fortuitous hole in the roof of the Skull Dome, the moonlight poured down, triggering a profound transformation within Inuarashi. He transcended into his majestic Sulong form, bathed in a radiant aura of power and ferocity.

Jack found himself on the receiving end of a relentless onslaught from Inuarashi in his awe-inspiring Sulong form. Each strike landed with devastating precision, inflicting numerous wounds upon Jack. However, the tide of battle shifted when storm clouds rolled in, obscuring the moon and causing Inuarashi to revert to his normal form.

This provided a momentary respite for Jack, who seized the opportunity to rally and even admitted that if he had taken one more blow, he would have surely been defeated.

But fate intervened against Jack. In a moment of intense clash between Luffy and Kaido, their advanced-grade Haoshoku Haki caused the storm clouds to part, unveiling the full moon once again. As the moon's ethereal light washed over the battlefield, Inuarashi, reinvigorated, swiftly regained his Sulong form. In a final, decisive strike, Inuarashi unleashed the devastating technique known as the Oden One Sword Style: Inu Spire.

The attack pierced through Jack's stomach, leaving him grievously wounded and rendering him unconscious, his formidable strength finally subdued.

Jack’s Personality

Jack is known for his violent and volatile nature, often losing his temper easily. His subordinates express concern about how he will react when he learns about Caesar's downfall, indicating his unpredictable and potentially destructive behavior. He has a tendency to make threats of destruction, going so far as to vow to annihilate entire cities if his demands are not met.

Disturbingly, he follows through on his threats, blaming the citizens themselves for not complying with his wishes. Jack's ruthlessness knows no bounds, as he has shown no hesitation in attacking even innocent children and the elderly. His love for causing chaos and devastation is so extreme that he indulges in it without any apparent benefit or purpose, earning him a reputation for madness among those who have witnessed his actions firsthand.

Furthermore, Jack exhibits extreme sadism and a willingness to torture his enemies in order to achieve his objectives. His methods are barbaric and brutal, often involving dismemberment and causing gruesome bloodshed. He only ceases his relentless violence when he has more pressing matters to attend to.

When Jack targeted the massive elephant Zunesha, his determination to reach its head led him to devise cruel and horrific plans to kill the majestic creature. Jack is incredibly stubborn and unreasonable. He never listens to others and gets really angry when someone tries to reason with him.

He even ignored his crew's warning about the danger of attacking Doflamingo's convoy. Jack is so headstrong and reckless that he decided to attack four Marine ships, despite knowing they were guarded by powerful Marines, just to save Doflamingo. When things don't go his way, Jack fights dirty to achieve his goals.

He used a gas weapon called Koro to wipe out the minks on Zou because he was losing patience, not because he was in real danger. He's also a strategic fighter who wants to use the most effective methods to win. When he returned to Zou, he planned to kill Zunesha, the elephant carrying the island, to destroy the country quickly and make sure the minks couldn't fight back.

Jack likes to thoroughly crush his opponents, thinking they'll come back stronger if he doesn't finish them off completely. And he's really tough on his subordinates, punishing them brutally for failing their missions, like when he punished Sheepshead for not finding Raizo.

Despite his brutal and sadistic nature, Jack has shown moments of concern and consideration. He became genuinely worried when Kaido went on a destructive rampage through Kuri, as he valued the citizens who worked in the factories there.

He also treats those who haven't provoked him with respect and doesn't engage in unnecessary violence with them. He displays subservience towards those he recognizes as stronger, such as his fellow All-Stars King and Queen, accepting their insults and responding with a quiet apology. He also holds a deep fear and reverence for his superior, Kaido.

Jack doesn't seem to care about titles or fame, as he becomes annoyed when his subordinates boast about his position and bounty. However, he still takes pride in himself, as evidenced by his anger upon reading a news report about his supposed death.

Although Jack typically maintains a calm and unwavering demeanor, he experiences genuine fear when faced with overwhelming power or helplessness. When Zunesha swung its massive trunk at him and his fleet, he was filled with terror, his eyes bulging as he watched the enormous limb loom over them. Jack even trembled in the presence of his superior, Kaido.

Similarly, he showed apprehension when Queen brought Big Mom to Onigashima. To sum it up, Jack is a violent and destructive pirate. He threatens and harms innocent people, even children and the elderly. He enjoys causing pain and uses cruel tactics.

He doesn't listen to others and can get very angry. He fights recklessly and is willing to do anything to win. Despite his brutality, he sometimes shows concern for certain people and respects those stronger than him. He is also afraid of powerful opponents. Overall, Jack is a feared and ruthless pirate.

Jack’s Appearance

Jack is a giant fish-man with a huge build, towering over his crew and even taller than Governor-General Kaido. Unlike most fish-men, he has pale human-like skin, which can be mistaken for a human.

He has a muscular body, but his limbs are small compared to his massive torso. He wears a metallic jaw mask and has horns on each side of his head. His blond hair is tied in a ponytail with long braids.

Jack wears a sleeveless feathery coat with spiked pauldrons on his shoulders, adorned with his crew's Jolly Roger. His eyes are bloodshot orange, and he has a veined forehead.

He carries scythe-like blades in tusk-shaped sheathes around his neck. When he uses Koro on the Minks, he wears a hazmat suit with a glass helmet.

Jack’s Abilities

Jack is a powerful member of the Beasts Pirates, serving as an All-Star under Governor-General Kaido. He ruled over Wano Country's Kuri region, where he struck fear into the residents.

While strong, he is considered weaker than his fellow All-Stars, King and Queen. Jack's nickname, "Jack the Drought," reflects the devastation he brings to the islands he attacks. The World Government recognizes him as a major threat, evidenced by his bounty of 1,000,000,000 Beli.

In battles, Jack has sunk Marine ships but was ultimately defeated by Vice Admiral Tsuru, Admiral Fujitora, and former Fleet Admiral Sengoku. During the war on Onigashima, Jack proved formidable but was eventually defeated by Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, the strongest minks from Zou.

Additionally, Jack possesses the abilities of Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki, although he has never been seen using them in combat. Instead, he relies more on his Devil Fruit powers.

Jack possesses a pair of unique blades known as Shotels, which he wields in his fish-man form. He conceals these blades within the sheathes shaped like tusks around his neck. The Shotels have a twisted appearance, resembling his own mammoth tusks when viewed from the front.

With these blades, he was able to hold his own in one-on-one battles against Nekomamushi and Inuarashi, the strongest minks in the Mokomo Dukedom.

He fought evenly against the renowned thief Shutenmaru, even managing to injure him before their fight was interrupted. Despite one of his blades being partially damaged, Jack could still fight effectively with the remaining portion. In the anime, Jack demonstrates the ability to execute flying slash attacks rapidly against Shutenmaru.

Additionally, during his assault on Zou, Jack obtained a poisonous gas weapon called Koro, created by Caesar Clown. He utilized this weapon to overpower the minks and devastate Kurau City after growing impatient from days of conflict. To protect himself from the gas, Jack and his accompanying platoon wore hazmat suits.

Physical Abilities

Jack possesses incredible strength and stamina due to his fish-man heritage, which is further enhanced by his Zoan Devil Fruit powers. He demonstrated his endurance by engaging in a relentless five-day battle against the Mink Tribe, including their rulers Inuarashi and Nekomamushi. Despite his formidable abilities, he resorted to using a chemical weapon to finally defeat them.

Jack's durability is also noteworthy. He survived a powerful blow from Zunesha, a colossal elephant, which was enough to destroy his entire fleet, only briefly losing consciousness. During the war on Onigashima, he sustained heavy injuries from the Mink Tribe's Sulong-empowered forces.

Remarkably, within an hour, he managed to recover enough to launch an attack on the wounded Nine Red Scabbards, believing it was a more favorable opportunity to eliminate them than facing a fully healthy member of the Tobiroppo.

Devil Fruit

Jack's Devil Fruit, the Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth, grants him the ability to transform into a mammoth and a hybrid mammoth form. As a Zoan user, he experiences a significant increase in strength, size, and durability.

In his full mammoth form, he can cause destruction by simply swinging his trunk, knocking down steel gates effortlessly, and leaving deep footprints in the rock. However, despite his formidable abilities, he was ultimately defeated by Inuarashi and Nekomamushi.

Jack’s Relationships

Crew

Jack's subordinates are fiercely loyal to him, but it's unclear if he respects them in return. Sometimes he gets annoyed with them, like when they revealed his bounty to the minks. He has also put them in unnecessary danger by ordering them to attack powerful opponents instead of seeking peaceful resolutions.

However, his crewmates seem to enjoy the battle and don't protest against his decisions. They take pride in Jack's reputation and bounty, but there is an underlying fear of his potential reaction to certain events. Jack doesn't tolerate mission failures or premature endings, as seen when he harshly punished Sheepshead and showed sarcasm towards his subordinates' remarks he deems obvious or foolish.

Kaido

Jack holds a position of great trust as one of Kaido's three top men. However, Kaido's concern seemed to lie more with his SMILE supply than with Jack's failure to rescue Doflamingo. Jack is shown to fear his superior, trembling when faced with Kaido in his dragon form.

Jack in One Piece.
Still from the anime.

While stern and sometimes cruel to his subordinates, Jack remains subservient to those of higher rank or strength, such as Kaido. He recognizes Kaido's unpredictable and insane nature, particularly when he is drunk.

Although Jack is one of Kaido's confidants, Kaido offered the lower-ranked Tobiroppo a chance to challenge and replace any All-Star, emphasizing that power determines the crew's hierarchy. Despite this, Jack did not complain.

Kaido does show some compassion for Jack. After Jack sustained severe injuries from the Sulong-empowered Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, Kaido intervened, commended Jack for his control over the other Sulong minks, and allowed him to step back and recover from his wounds.

King & Queen

Despite being looked down upon and insulted by King and Queen, Jack doesn't harbor resentment toward them. As a member since childhood, he respectfully refers to them as "Big Brothers," acknowledging their superiority.

Even when insulted by them, such as being called "Jack the Stooge," he apologizes and accepts their mockery without protest. Jack is considered the weakest of the three All-Stars, and he endures being looked down upon by King and Queen without complaint.

Allies

Under the alliance orchestrated by Kaido, Jack is aligned with Donquixote Doflamingo. Despite the formidable Marine presence guarding Doflamingo, Jack was determined to retrieve him from the Marine convoy. However, upon Doflamingo's defeat and capture, Jack was forced to abandon his destructive plans for Zou.

Enemies

Mink Tribe

Jack mercilessly tortured numerous minks and devastated the Mokomo Dukedom, earning their everlasting hatred and fear. Pekoms of the Big Mom Pirates was also furious with Jack for attacking his homeland.

After his failed attempt to rescue Doflamingo, Jack returned to Zou with the intent to exterminate the minks to prevent any possibility of revenge. During the Fire Festival, he faced the minks again, who fought back in their powerful Sulong forms.

Although Jack defeated many minks, they inflicted severe injuries on him. After partially recovering, Jack had a final confrontation with Inuarashi.

Despite Inuarashi briefly gaining the upper hand in his Sulong form, Jack admitted that one more direct hit would have defeated him. However, Inuarashi managed to regain his Sulong form and ultimately defeated Jack using a powerful sword technique.

Raizo

Jack embarked on an arduous quest to find Raizo, driven by Kaido's desire to obtain the secrets of the Kozuki Family, particularly those possessed by their late leader, Kozuki Oden. In his relentless pursuit, Jack left a trail of devastation, nearly reducing an entire country to ruins.

Zunesha

During his second assault on Zou, Jack unleashed his cruel intentions upon the minks. His plan involved bringing down Zunesha, the massive elephant carrying their civilization, with the intention of subjecting the minks to sadistic slaughter. He aimed to force the elephant to its knees, allowing him to reach its head and execute the defenseless creature.

However, Zunesha, fiercely protective of the minks, received permission from Momonosuke and retaliated with an overwhelming show of force. With a single swing of its trunk, Zunesha obliterated Jack's fleet, leaving him paralyzed with fear and helplessly witnessing the destruction he had brought upon himself.

Ashura Doji

However, Ashura staunchly refused and immediately engaged Jack in a brutal clash. The fierce battle resulted in serious injuries inflicted upon both combatants.
