Baby 5's past is one of abandonment, loneliness, and a desperate need to feel needed and useful by others. She was born in Kuen Village, where her family saw her as a burden and her mother even went as far as to abandon her in the mountains, deeming her useless. This early rejection left a deep impact on Baby 5's psyche, leading her to develop an obsession with serving others in order to find validation and a sense of purpose.
At some point, she was found and recruited into the Donquixote Pirates, a notorious group of pirates known for their criminal activities. It was during her time with the crew, at the age of 8, when she encountered a young boy named Trafalgar Law in Spider Miles, a port town in North Blue.
Law revealed that he had only three years left to live and had resolved to kill as many people as possible. Baby 5 and Buffalo, her fellow crew member, informed the higher-ranking members of the crew, Trebol and Diamante, about Corazon's return.
Corazon, who was likely a crew member or affiliate of the Donquixote Pirates, displayed clumsiness and was mocked by Baby 5 and the other children. However, Corazon's actions towards Law turned violent, as he threw Law out of a window, seemingly intending to kill him. This incident shocked Baby 5 and Buffalo.
As time passed and Law became a part of the crew, Baby 5 learned about his tragic background. Law was a survivor of Flevance, a city known as "The White City," where a disease called Amber Lead Syndrome had devastated the population. Despite being informed of the Donquixote Pirates' blood law, which may have discouraged anyone from seeking revenge against a fellow member, Law expressed his desire for revenge against Corazon.
In response to Law's defiance, Baby 5 slapped him on the head and warned him of the severe consequences, including torture, that would follow if he persisted. However, Law remained resolute, and Baby 5 was left feeling defeated and in tears.
Later on, Baby 5 learned about Law's horrific past and his hometown while raiding with the future officers of the Donquixote Pirates, including Lao G, Gladius, and Senor Pink.
During one encounter, Law was brought before Doflamingo by Giolla and Machvise. Baby 5 thought Law would be punished and started feeling bad for him. However, to her surprise, Doflamingo announced that Law would become an official member of the crew.
Over the next two years, Baby 5 actively participated in various activities with the crew, such as looting, making business deals, and collecting bounties. On one occasion, she teamed up with Law to take down an enemy named Wellington, but their plan went awry, and they had to be rescued by some of the officers.
As time passed, Baby 5 grew closer to Law and eventually revealed her real name to him and Buffalo. She insisted that Law reveal his true name as well. During their interactions, she noticed Law's Amber Lead Syndrome becoming more prominent and affecting his health.
One day, she witnessed Corazon, one of the officers, carrying a protesting Law away. She feared Corazon might be picking on Law, but things took a different turn when Law tripped Corazon and managed to escape with him.
Six months after Corazon and Law's departure from the crew, the Donquixote Pirates planned to steal the Ope Ope no Mi from the Barrels Pirates, who intended to sell it to the Marines. They arrived at Minion Island, and Vergo informed them about Corazon's betrayal.
While Doflamingo executed his dangerous plan called the "Birdcage," Baby 5 and Buffalo were tasked with scouting the island from the sky.
Following Corazon's capture, Baby 5 and Buffalo reported to Doflamingo that the Marines had taken custody of a boy, whom they believed to be Law. Consequently, the Donquixote Pirates left Corazon behind, thinking he was dead, and prepared to depart the island.
Later, during the takeover of Dressrosa, Baby 5 actively participated as the Donquixote Pirates stormed the royal palace, led by Monet, who opened the palace gates for them.
In a tragic revelation, it was disclosed that Baby 5 had a dark past. She had eight fiancés whom Doflamingo ruthlessly killed, and he destroyed the cities where they lived.
Baby 5 was first seen on Dressrosa while Doflamingo was talking to Vergo. She was angry with Doflamingo and repeatedly tried to kill him, but Gladius stopped her by shooting her. When she attempted to shoot Doflamingo again, he used his powers to turn her own gun against her.
Doflamingo then sent Baby 5 and Buffalo to Punk Hazard to retrieve Caesar Clown. On their way to Punk Hazard, Baby 5 expressed her resentment towards Doflamingo for what he did to her fiancé. Buffalo explained that Doflamingo acts protectively like a big brother and that Baby 5 should learn to say "no" more often.
Baby 5, however, felt obligated to accept marriage proposals, even when she didn't want to. Buffalo also noticed her tendency to get attached easily and her habit of lending and spending money.
As they reached Punk Hazard, Baby 5 wondered if using her weapons could disperse the poisonous gas on the island. Buffalo assured her he would handle it and used his rotating abilities to clear the gas, revealing a tanker ship below them. They decided to wait there for Monet, Caesar, and Vergo.
Suddenly, the tanker exploded, and they were surprised to see Caesar Clown responsible for the attack. After the tanker exploded on Punk Hazard, Buffalo called Doflamingo to report the incident. Doflamingo ordered Baby 5 and Buffalo to recover Caesar Clown and return to Dressrosa immediately. Baby 5 speculated that Doflamingo must have his reasons for the attack.
While heading to collect Caesar, Baby 5 noticed someone on the tanker's deck. It turned out to be Franky using his General Franky, a powerful weapon.
Baby 5 and Buffalo engaged in battle with Franky, mistaking his General Franky for a Pacifista initially. However, they soon realized that Caesar had no interest in human weapons. Baby 5 used her Missile Girl technique, causing a huge explosion. Despite their efforts, Franky remained unfazed.
Baby 5 transformed into a sickle, which Buffalo used to pierce General Franky's arm. But Franky retaliated by using his General Cannon attack, blowing them away.
After getting back up, they saw Law, the Marines, and the Straw Hat Pirates approaching. Deciding to retreat, they tried to escape with Caesar. However, Nami struck them down with her Lightning Breed Tempo attack, and Usopp finished them off with Totsugeki Ryuseigun.
Later, Baby 5, Buffalo, and Caesar were shown tied up before the Straw Hat Pirates, the G-5 Marines, and the former Punk Hazard soldiers during a celebration party.
After the celebration, Law decided to decapitate Baby 5 and Buffalo as a way to show Doflamingo that he had betrayed the crew. Their heads were placed on a raft and sent in the direction of Doflamingo. When Doflamingo found them, Baby 5 confirmed Law's betrayal but expressed disappointment in not being able to serve her captain when he needed her. Despite their failure, Doflamingo forgave them, saying they were merely following orders.
Baby 5 listened to the conversation between Doflamingo and Law. When Law told Doflamingo to step down as a Warlord of the Sea, Baby 5 was shocked and warned Law that Doflamingo could never return to Dressrosa. She feared Doflamingo's reaction after the negotiation.
Meanwhile, some G-5 Marines and former test subjects of Caesar searched for their comrades who were left petrified behind. They came across the decapitated bodies of Baby 5 and Buffalo and were unsure of what to do. Suddenly, their heads flew down from the sky and reattached themselves to their bodies.
Doflamingo arrived and accompanied them back to Punk Hazard to find Law and the Straw Hat Pirates. Later, Baby 5, Buffalo, and Doflamingo left after Kuzan (Aokiji) appeared unexpectedly.
After Doflamingo decided to resign as a Warlord of the Sea and caused chaos in Dressrosa, he had Baby 5 call for Trebol. Trebol made fun of Baby 5's past fiancés and jokingly proposed to marry her. Despite his rudeness, Baby 5 found his proposal irresistible, which led to her being scolded by Lao G and Giolla.
Later, Baby 5 spoke with Gladius about Violet's betrayal. When she heard that intruders, including Monkey D. Luffy, had breached the palace rampart tower, she was momentarily confused since Luffy was believed to be at the Corrida Colosseum in disguise.
In the second-floor suite room, Baby 5 and Buffalo were present while Doflamingo interrogated Law about the Straw Hats' objectives. Baby 5 slapped Law and demanded answers from him. When Law glared at her, she started crying and sought comfort from Buffalo, reminiscent of their childhood.
When Sugar's curse broke, all the toys in Dressrosa returned to their original forms, and chaos ensued. Baby 5 was terrified when she saw Kyros seemingly decapitate Doflamingo. As Kyros defeated Doflamingo's subordinates and Buffalo, Baby 5 was unable to stop him. However, it was revealed that the decapitated Doflamingo was just a copy, and the real Doflamingo was still alive.
Baby 5 witnessed Doflamingo's brief skirmish with Luffy and Kyros. After Pica threw Luffy, Law, Kyros, Viola, and Riku Doldo III out of the palace, Baby 5 stood next to Doflamingo while he initiated his dangerous "Birdcage" plan.
After Pica relocated the royal palace to Flower Hill, Doflamingo and his officers, including Baby 5, had a gathering to discuss plans concerning the Straw Hats and the Marines. Baby 5 shot a grunt and laughed at Pica's voice during the meeting.
Later, Baby 5 was stationed on the second level of the new King's Plateau, guarding the palace with other officers. She noticed Sabo obstructing the Marines from stopping Luffy and his allies.
When the colosseum fighters reached the second level, Baby 5 attacked Dagama with her Revolver Leg technique. She then faced off against Sai and transformed her leg into a sword to kick him, but he blocked the attack with his staff. During their battle, Baby 5 misunderstood Sai's words and thought he was hitting on her, which she took as a sign of him needing her.
During the battle, Sai made it clear that he didn't intend to marry Baby 5, but when Lao G's life force started to leave his body, Baby 5 cried out to him, prompting his recovery. Still thinking that Sai needed her, Baby 5 tried to please him, but he mockingly asked her to die. Taking his request literally, Baby 5 prepared to commit suicide, but Sai rushed to prevent her from doing so.
After defeating Lao G, Sai called Baby 5 "convenient," which made her happy, and he promised to marry her. However, he irritated Chinjao by mentioning two ceremonies – a wedding and a funeral. Baby 5 witnessed the defeat of Pica and was impressed by Zoro's strength.
During the chaos of the Birdcage shrinking, Baby 5 and Sai discussed its horror. She was not arrested by the Marines as she had already defected from the Donquixote Pirates before their downfall.
After Doflamingo's defeat, Baby 5 helped the Straw Hats and the Colosseum gladiators escape Dressrosa. Later, she celebrated the birth of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet alongside Sai on the Yonta Maria ship.
After the Happo Navy returned to Kano Country, Baby 5 continued to stick close to Sai. When Sai broke off his engagement with Uholisia and got beaten up, Baby 5 sat beside him, crying for him. Later, after Sai was covered in bandages, the two of them had their wedding ceremony.
Baby 5's personality can be described as emotionally fragile. She is an incredibly emotional person, prone to frequent mood swings. She can go from being angry to seeking comfort and crying in a short period. Her emotions seem to play a significant role in her decision-making and behavior.
Having been abandoned by her mother and insulted as "useless," Baby 5 has developed a deep-seated need to be needed by others. This need for validation and a sense of purpose drives her to go to extreme lengths to fulfill favors asked of her, even if they are mere jokes or unnecessary.
Her naivety is evident in her belief in others' words, even when they are not genuine. She easily falls for sales pitches or compliments, which makes her susceptible to being taken advantage of. This naive nature also leads her to buy things or help people without considering the consequences, contributing to her financial debt and problematic relationships.
Baby 5's willingness to do anything for others stems from her low self-esteem and a belief in her own worthlessness. She seems to engage in self-destructive behaviors as a result of this mindset, which raises concerns about her well-being.
Despite her flaws, Baby 5 shows a strong sense of loyalty and devotion to those she cares about. This loyalty was evident in her reaction to the murder of her fiancé by Donquixote Doflamingo. Additionally, her eagerness to become Sai's wife demonstrates her desire for companionship and a sense of belonging.
In her childhood, Baby 5 was a mischievous prankster, playing tricks on others and enjoying the playful side of her personality. However, her past experiences, particularly her abandonment, and mistreatment, have shaped her current behavior and outlook on life.
Baby 5 is a young woman who has a tall and slim figure, with long black hair, usually styled in loose curls, and wears a white lace headband in her hair, which adds a feminine touch to her overall look. She likes to wear lipstick, which enhances her facial features and adds to her attractiveness. She often wears goggles around her eyes, and these goggles fill with tears when she cries, showing that she can be emotionally vulnerable.
Her clothing style is unique and somewhat provocative. She typically wears a burgundy French maid outfit with white frills that emphasize her figure. She pairs this outfit with high heel shoes that make her look even taller and more elegant.
Baby 5 is always ready for combat, and her clothing reflects that. She wears multiple tan belts to carry her various weapons, showing that she's prepared for battle. She also likes to smoke cigarettes, which adds a rebellious touch to her appearance.
As she grew older, her appearance changed. At eight years old, she had shorter hair and wore a yellow ribbon on it, giving her a more innocent and youthful look. At 14 years old, she appeared slightly more mature, with less wavy hair, no lipstick, and wearing a red hair ribbon and simple brown gloves.
Baby 5, a former officer of the Donquixote Pirates, possesses formidable and versatile fighting abilities, thanks to her unique Devil Fruit power, the Buki Buki no Mi, a Paramecia-type ability. This Devil Fruit allows her to transform her entire body or specific body parts into a wide range of weapons, including giant swords, sickles, pistols, rifles, cannons, and even missiles. The ability to switch between different weapons instantly during combat makes her a highly unpredictable opponent.
In addition to her mastery over the weapons she generates, Baby 5 exhibits impressive physical attributes. She demonstrates remarkable strength, effortlessly carrying heavy weapons larger than herself. Moreover, she possesses a decent level of durability, as evidenced by surviving a gunshot unharmed and recovering quickly from attacks by formidable foes like General Franky and Nami's homing lightning bolt.
Her unique Devil Fruit power also grants her the ability to reform her body if it is broken into pieces by the intended effect of a weapon she transforms into. However, she cannot reform from exterior damage, even if it's self-inflicted. This adds an intriguing dimension to her combat capabilities.
Beyond her combat prowess, Baby 5 has shown to be a decent cook, and her husband's favorite meal is a bento made by her, showcasing her culinary skills. Moreover, she possesses superior jumping abilities, allowing her to jump off her partner Buffalo in midair and safely land on his back after he performs a maneuver.
Apart from the weapons she can create with her Devil Fruit, Baby 5 carries additional weapons on her back, including a Gatling gun, a large flamethrower, and a sword strapped to her thigh. Despite her ability to generate weapons, she bought these additional weapons on a whim due to her personality flaw.
Before defecting from the Donquixote Pirates, Baby 5 held authority over 2000 lower-ranking crew members, demonstrating her leadership skills and the trust Doflamingo placed in her. Combined with her formidable combat abilities, this made her a significant force within the crew.
Baby 5 had a troubled and challenging relationship with her biological mother, who abandoned her at a young age in a mountain area. Her mother's negative treatment of her, including calling her useless, left a deep emotional impact on Baby 5. As a result, Baby 5 developed a strong determination to be needed by others to prevent them from abandoning her.
Initially, Baby 5 and Sai were on opposing sides and fought against each other at Dressrosa. During their encounter, there was a misunderstanding where Baby 5 interpreted Sai's words as romantic pick-up lines. Despite their differences, Sai showed concern for Baby 5 when he stopped her from attempting to take her own life after feeling useless.
Following the battle with Lao G, Sai agreed to marry Baby 5 as a way to give her a sense of purpose and importance. Over time, Baby 5's affectionate behavior towards Sai, referring to him as "darling" and discussing their wedding, grew on him, and they eventually married, helping her achieve her dream of becoming a wife.
At first, Chinjao and Baby 5 were enemies due to their respective affiliations with Luffy and Doflamingo. Chinjao's initial antagonism towards Baby 5 was evident when he allowed her to commit suicide during the Birdcage game.
However, after Sai managed to change Chinjao's perspective, he became less hostile towards Baby 5. Chinjao eventually accepted her as his granddaughter-in-law when she married Sai, and he was shown celebrating their wedding.
Baby 5 has been a long-standing member of the Donquixote Pirates, serving under Doflamingo as her captain. However, she holds a deep grudge against him for killing eight of her previous boyfriends. Despite her attempts to attack him with fatal blows, Doflamingo sees her actions as mere personality flaws and doesn't view her as a threat or rebellion.
He seems to have a complex relationship with Baby 5, considering her as a younger sister and often protecting her from her own emotional struggles. Nonetheless, Baby 5's desire to be needed by him drives her to help him whenever he asks for assistance, seeing any inability to respond as a personal failure.
As an elite officer and leader of Baby 5's division within the Donquixote Pirates, she treated Pica with great respect. She even showed extreme loyalty to Pica by shooting a subordinate who laughed at Pica's high-pitched voice.
However, after agreeing to marry Sai and defect from the Donquixote Pirates, Baby 5 was attacked by Pica for her betrayal. It can be assumed that their relationship became strained due to this event.
Baby 5's relationship with Trebol seems to be uncomfortable and characterized by teasing and insensitivity on Trebol's part. He makes fun of Baby 5's tendency to accept every marriage proposal and the fact that Doflamingo kills off her fiancés.
Trebol even goes as far as jokingly asking for her hand in marriage, knowing she takes it seriously, and dismisses it with laughter. Baby 5 is not fond of Trebol's behavior either, chiding him for getting too close and making crude remarks.
Baby 5 and Gladius have a strange relationship characterized by casual conversations even after he shot her. Despite the violent encounter, Baby 5 appears to be forgiving towards Gladius. She also shows worry and fear when he gets angry, fearing the potential consequences of his powers.
Baby 5 and Buffalo have had a long-standing acquaintance since childhood, both being prominent child recruits for the Donquixote Pirates. They share a history of playing pranks on
Donquixote Rosinante during their younger days. Baby 5 and Buffalo demonstrate good teamwork and camaraderie during their partnership, especially evident during the Punk Hazard Arc.
However, Buffalo is shown to selfishly take advantage of Baby 5's helpful nature, asking her for a loan despite her already having a heavy debt to deal with. Despite this, Baby 5 shows concern and care for Buffalo, especially when he is defeated and thrown out the palace window by Kyros on Dressrosa.
Baby 5's relationship with Lao G is characterized by little respect from him towards her. Lao G gets annoyed by her naivety and doesn't hold her in high regard. Despite this, Baby 5 shows genuine worry for him when he appears to be in danger or "dies," begging him to come back. However, after Lao G's defeat, she seems to no longer care about his well-being and leaves with Sai.
During their younger days, Baby 5 and Buffalo enjoyed teasing and playing pranks on Donquixote Rosinante, whom they knew as Cora-san, the second Corazon. While Rosinante pretended to dislike children and even acted physically abusive to drive them away from the crew, his true intentions were different, as he cared for their well-being deep down.
Baby 5 and Law have known each other since childhood, both being new recruits to the Donquixote Pirates. Initially, they didn't get along well, with Baby 5 scolding Law for his boldness and Law responding with menacing glares that would make her cry.
However, after learning about the Amber Lead Syndrome and Flevance's doom, Baby 5 became more sympathetic towards Law. During the three-year training period, they fought alongside each other on missions and spent time socializing together along with Buffalo. Baby 5 showed concern for Law's fate and his advancing disease.
Despite Law's eventual betrayal, Baby 5's emotional response during his interrogation indicates that the news strongly affected her. After reforming, they appear to have returned to friendlier terms, as they both joined the same coalition of pirate crews.
Baby 5's relationships with her fiancés have been tragic and short-lived. Due to her inclination to accept every proposal made to her, she believed that each proposal was sincere and true love, which led to Doflamingo killing all eight of her proposers and their hometowns to protect her from their ulterior motives.
Baby 5 was deeply distraught by their deaths, showing a genuine emotional connection with them. Even when Trebol asked for her hand in marriage as a joke and then retracted it, she took the proposal seriously, further highlighting her vulnerability and naivety in matters of love and relationships.
