Buffalo’s History

When exactly Buffalo joined Donquixote Pirates is unknown, however, he was with them in Spider Miles, a North Blue port town, when he was 14.

Not long after, Trafalgar Law joined Doflamingo's crew with a plan to kill as many people as possible in the three years he had left to live, due to his illness. Following this, Buffalo once mocked Pica's voice and suffered torture as punishment.

Later, Buffalo and Baby 5 informed Trebol and Diamante that Corazon, Doflamingo’s brother, had returned. They laughed at Corazon's clumsiness but were shocked when he threw Law out the window, thinking Law was dead.

After a week with the crew, Buffalo mentioned laughing at Pica's voice and receiving torture when Law was told about the crew's blood law. They learned Law had the Amber Lead Syndrome, and Buffalo panicked, thinking it was contagious. Despite Doflamingo correcting Giolla, Buffalo remained cautious. They heard about Law escaping the Flevance extermination.

Buffalo witnessed Law breaking the blood law by stabbing Corazon. Law bribed him with ice cream to keep quiet. When Law was brought before Doflamingo, Buffalo thought he would be punished, but Doflamingo made Law an official crew member instead.

Over the next two years, Buffalo joined the Donquixote Pirates in various activities like looting, making deals, and collecting bounties. He eventually shared his real name with Law and Baby 5, pressuring Law to reveal his by threatening to expose what happened with Corazon two years ago. After learning Law's name, Buffalo saw Corazon carrying a Law away, noting that Corazon looked scarier than usual that day.

Buffalo and Baby 5 later saw Law tricking Corazon into falling into a garbage dump, and Law offered Buffalo ice cream to keep quiet. Then, the crew battled the Marines at sea, and suddenly, Corazon and Law left.

Six months after their departure, the Donquixote Pirates planned to steal the Ope Ope no Mi from pirates selling it to the Marines. Arriving at Minion Island, Vergo informed them of Corazon's betrayal. During the chaos, Buffalo and Baby 5 scouted the island, and after Corazon's capture, they told Doflamingo that the Marines had a boy in custody. Thinking it was Law, the crew left Corazon behind and prepared to leave, facing Tsuru's squadron before departing.

Buffalo also played a role in Doflamingo's takeover of Dressrosa, storming the royal palace after Monet opened the gates.

Punk Hazard Arc

When Trafalgar Law planned to steal SAD from Punk Hazard, Doflamingo sent Buffalo and Baby 5 to help Vergo, Monet, and Caesar Clown eliminate Law, the Straw Hat Pirates, and the G-5 Marines led by Smoker and Tashigi.

Heading to Punk Hazard, Baby 5 rode on Buffalo, who flew with propellers. During the journey, Baby 5 complained about Doflamingo killing her fiancés and destroying their hometowns. Buffalo defended Doflamingo, saying he was protecting her from the consequences of her decisions. He teased Baby 5 about her habit of never rejecting requests, leading her to agree to lend him 2,000,000 berries for a casino visit upon their return to Dressrosa.

As they approached Punk Hazard, covered in H2S gas, Buffalo dispelled the smokescreen by spinning rapidly. When an explosion hit the tanker ship, they thought it blew up, but it was Caesar Clown. They reported to Doflamingo, who changed their mission to recover Caesar and return to Dressrosa. Approaching Caesar, they saw Franky in his General Franky

Franky attacked, causing Buffalo and Baby 5 to falter. They regained stability, and Buffalo used Baby 5 as a rotating blade to cut through Franky's shield projectile. Then, in a bid to retrieve Caesar, Buffalo used his "Spinning Cannon" to launch Baby 5 in her "Missile Girl" form at Franky, causing a massive explosion. General Franky endured the attack, and Buffalo contacted Doflamingo for assistance. Doflamingo ordered them to deal with Franky.

Baby 5 transformed into a sickle, and with Buffalo, pierced General Franky's left arm. Franky retaliated with General Cannon, blowing them away. Despite getting back up, they decided to grab Caesar and flee when Law, the Marines, and the Straw Hat Pirates approached. Nami struck them down with Lightning Breed Tempo, and Usopp finished them off with Totsugeki Ryuseigun.

Restrained by the Straw Hats and Marines, Buffalo and Baby 5 witnessed the celebration. Later, Law decapitated them, and their heads were sent toward Doflamingo. Apologizing for their failure, they listened to Doflamingo's conversation with Law. When Law demanded Doflamingo resign as a Warlord, Buffalo got mad.

Marines found their decapitated bodies, but the heads flew down from the sky, reattaching themselves. Doflamingo arrived, looking for Law and the Straw Hat Pirates. Before a confrontation with Kuzan, Doflamingo left Punk Hazard with both Buffalo and Baby 5.

Dressrosa Arc

During the attack on the royal palace, Buffalo and Baby 5 were in the second-floor suite room as Doflamingo questioned Law about the Straw Hats' objectives. When Sugar lost consciousness, all the toys returned to their original forms, and chaos ensued. Buffalo screamed in terror when Kyros seemingly decapitated Doflamingo.

Angry at Doflamingo's apparent death, Buffalo tried to retaliate against Kyros but was swiftly defeated. Kyros broke Buffalo's neck, and he was thrown out of the tower while screaming. Following the collapse of the Donquixote Pirate’s rule, Buffalo and his fellow officers were arrested by the Marines.

Buffalo’s Personality

Buffalo demonstrates an unwavering loyalty to his family, particularly towards Doflamingo. This loyalty extends to the point where he accepts the destruction of eight cities and countless lives, all for the sake of keeping Baby 5 away from her "boyfriends."

Buffalo was a mischievous prankster during his childhood, often playing tricks on the clumsy Corazon and finding amusement even when faced with consequences. Despite his playful nature, he had a sweet tooth and could be easily bribed with ice cream.

As an adult, he shows signs of being a compulsive gambler, asking Baby 5 for a loan to use at the casino. He disapproves of cheaters, as noted when scammers took advantage of his absence. Despite his greedy side, Buffalo is enthusiastic, often seen smiling, and has a habit of making "nnnniin" sounds to imitate a propeller during his sentences.

Buffalo’s Appearance

Buffalo, as seen in the anime.

Buffalo is a huge man with thin arms and legs. His dark hair looks like a propeller, with parts sticking up, to the sides, and a long goatee. Initially, he had several cowlicks in a turbine shape, but later it changed to just four in a more regular propeller shape. His teeth are sticking out of his mouth with his crew's Jolly Roger on them. Buffalo wears a yellow fur coat, wraps thick chains around himself, and has strange-shaped boots.

When he was 14, Buffalo was already big for his age with slight buckteeth and hair in two antennae. At 20, his buckteeth didn't have the crew's Jolly Roger yet, and his hair looked more like clover petals, similar to a ship propeller. His clothes were darker than what he wears now.

Buffalo’s Abilities

As an officer of the Donquixote Pirates, Buffalo had authority over lower-ranking members and commanded 2000 soldiers. Despite Doflamingo knowing the Straw Hats' plans, he trusted Buffalo to go to Punk Hazard.

Buffalo also has great endurance, as he was able to face powerful attacks like Franky Shogun's General Cannon and Nami's Thunder Breed Tempo.

Buffalo's Devil Fruit, the Guru Guru no Mi, allows him to make any part of his body spin like a propeller. He uses this ability in coordination with Baby 5 to create a potent spinning cut, capable of slicing through projectiles or piercing heavy armor. He can also generate centripetal force to strengthen attacks and create powerful gusts of wind.

Buffalo's spinning ability also enables him to fly through the air, covering long distances across the sea and skies.
