Capone Bege’s History

Bege had a tumultuous upbringing in the West Blue, rising to power as the leader of one of the region's Five Families. He gained notoriety by swiftly dismantling rival mafias, directly targeting their bosses. However, unlike most crime bosses, Bege had an unusual approach – he was content with looting money and valuables from the defeated mafias, without seeking to expand his own power. Instead, he enjoyed observing the power struggles that followed among the remaining factions.

His success in eliminating adversaries earned him numerous enemies, but Bege had a remarkable advantage – his Devil Fruit powers, which he used skillfully to fend off all threats. Despite accumulating enemies, Bege managed to repel them all, solidifying his position in the criminal underworld.

However, his life of dominance in the West Blue eventually became monotonous, and he yearned for new adventures. So, Bege made a bold decision to become a pirate and take his crew, made up of his loyal subordinates, to the high seas. They officially became known as the Fire Tank Pirates.

As a pirate, Bege's notoriety grew rapidly, and he earned a substantial bounty of Beli 138,000,000. Despite the change in scenery, Bege's methods remained consistent – he continued to target well-known pirate captains but left their crews unharmed. His reputation had already spread far and wide through the West Blue several years prior, making a significant impact in the sea, as mentioned by Portgas D. Ace.

Sabaody Archipelago Arc

Bege, one of the Supernovas, arrived at Sabaody Archipelago after traveling through one of the Grand Line's paths. He went to a restaurant in Grove 24 and watched Jewelry Bonney eat in a very rude and gluttonous manner.

Annoyed by her behavior, Bege ordered his crew to silence her. However, one of his men warned him not to cause trouble that would attract the attention of the powerful Marine Headquarters.

Later, Bege saw Roronoa Zoro almost attacking a World Noble, which could have brought powerful Marine Admirals to the archipelago. Fortunately, Jewelry Bonney intervened and prevented a major incident. Bege realized that Zoro was exceptionally daring for standing up to a World Noble.

Bege then learned about the news of the public execution of Portgas D. Ace, Whitebeard's second division commander, which shocked him and many others.

When Bege heard that Luffy had also confronted a World Noble, he decided to leave immediately for Fish-Man Island to avoid dealing with a Marine Admiral.

However, Bege found himself surrounded by a large group of Marine soldiers. Despite being alone, he remained calm and confidently told them that they had already lost due to his incredible military strength. He summoned a small army from his body and fired cannons to show his power.

Marineford Arc

After escaping capture by the Marines, Bege watched the public execution of Portgas D. Ace, which was broadcasted at Sabaody Archipelago. When people questioned whether Whitebeard had betrayed his allies, Bege defended Whitebeard's legendary reputation, stating that he wouldn't have done such a thing.

Post-War Arc

After the war ended, Bege observed that Whitebeard's territories were now vulnerable without his protection, and chaos would likely follow.

Later, while sailing in the New World, Bege and his crew encountered a massive, black object in the sky that drew them towards it. Despite their fear and attempts to steer away, they couldn't escape its pull.

During the Timeskip

At some point, Bege's bounty increased by Beli 300,000,000. His crew wandered into Big Mom's territory and was defeated by her. Instead of challenging her authority like other Supernova-led crews, Bege decided to ally with Big Mom.

To seal the alliance, Bege married Big Mom's 22nd daughter, Charlotte Chiffon, and they became part of Big Mom's crew., with whom he later had a son named, Capone Pez.

During a tea party hosted by Big Mom, a picture of Mother Carmel fell, causing Big Mom to go into a frenzy. Bege noticed that she scraped her knees and bled during the commotion.

Dressrosa Arc

Bege and his crew joined the Big Mom Pirates in chasing the Thousand Sunny to capture Caesar Clown. However, to their surprise, the Thousand Sunny group fought back and managed to escape.

After the defeat of the Donquixote Pirates, Bege acknowledged Doflamingo's downfall and expressed his intention to capture Caesar.

Zou Arc

Bege and Pekoms arrived on Zou to capture Caesar and take Sanji to Big Mom's Tea Party. However, Pekoms had a change of heart when he learned that the Straw Hats had saved his homeland from destruction. He decided to spare the Straw Hats as a gesture of gratitude.

Bege, frustrated with Pekoms' emotional decision, used his Devil Fruit powers to shoot Pekoms in the back.

Bege's crew captured Sanji's group and Caesar, and he imprisoned them inside his body. Bege then gave Sanji an invitation to Big Mom's wedding tea party, where he was to marry Big Mom's daughter, Pudding. Sanji was shocked by the news and dropped his cigarette, but Bege quickly put it out to prevent harm.

Despite Sanji's refusal to attend the wedding, Bege threatened the Straw Hats by using his fortress powers, stating that they had no choice but to comply with Big Mom's wishes. He planned to take them away from Zou to ensure Big Mom's will was fulfilled.

However, Sanji cleverly asked for a paper to write a note to his crew, but he used the opportunity to secretly free his crewmates from Bege's body. Before Bege and his men could react, Sanji held Caesar hostage, and Bege noticed Nekomamushi, the ruler of Zou, standing behind him.

Nekomamushi inquired about Pekoms' whereabouts, and Bege, fearing the consequences, decided to flee Zou with Sanji and Caesar in tow.

Whole Cake Island Arc

At this point, Bege had become a high-ranking member known as the "Rook" in the Big Mom Pirates. He was entrusted with security for the upcoming Tea Party. However, secretly, Bege had a plot to assassinate Big Mom during the event.

When the Straw Hat Pirates' Sanji Retrieval Team arrived in Totto Land, Bege kidnapped Pekoms, who was part of the Straw Hat crew. He tried to recruit Pekoms for his assassination plan, but Pekoms refused to betray his captain, Big Mom.

To prevent Pekoms from exposing his plot, Bege took him to the northeast coast of Whole Cake Island and attempted to kill him by shooting him and leaving him in shark-infested waters.

Bege also took control of the laboratory where Big Mom had Caesar Clown working. He forced Caesar to join his plan since Bege had possession of the scientist's heart.

Jinbe, a former member of the Big Mom Pirates, contacted Bege about a potential alliance between the Fire Tank Pirates and the Sanji Retrieval Team. They met, and Luffy, the leader of the Sanji Retrieval Team, decided to assist Bege in his assassination plot against Big Mom.

Bege explained his plan, which involved using Luffy as bait to distract the Big Mom Pirates while they attempted the assassination. Luffy also wanted to save the Vinsmoke Family during the chaos.

Three hours before the wedding, Luffy came up with a clever idea involving a captured Big Mom Pirate named Brûlée and her Mira Mira no Mi power, which allowed them to create mirror clones. They planned to use this to make a mirror appear inside the wedding cake.

The next day, Bege and his crew were in charge of checking guests at the Tea Party held at the top of the Whole Cake Chateau. They encountered a man named Jigra who attempted to sneak in without a body check, but he was shot by Katakuri, a powerful member of the Big Mom Pirates, who foresaw his attack.

Once everyone was inside the venue, Bege discussed the situation with his crew, including Caesar, who was given a crucial role in the plan to escape using a mirror. Bege was cautious of the venue's door homie listening in and had it dealt with. He also checked on the Straw Hats, who were sleeping inside his body, and Jinbe assured him they would be ready when needed.

During the wedding ceremony, chaos erupted when Luffy and his clones burst through the wedding cake, leading Brook to reveal Big Mom's portrait of Mother Carmel. However, the cake's destruction distracted Big Mom, and Bege tackled Luffy to try and control the situation.

Brook advised Luffy to show Big Mom the broken portrait, leading to a confrontation between Bege and Katakuri. Bege's bullets proved ineffective against Katakuri's mochi body. Luffy successfully showed Big Mom the portrait, causing her to have a psychological crisis and scream loudly, incapacitating her crew.

With Big Mom weakened by her scream, Bege, Vito, and Gotti emerged from Bege's body and tried to shoot Caesar's KX Launchers at her. However, the power of Big Mom's scream caused the shots to explode in mid-air, foiling their plan.

The Fire Tank Pirates and Straw Hats attempted to flee using Caesar's mirror, but Big Mom's scream shattered it, leaving them in a difficult situation.

Now, the alliance was trapped, and the Big Mom Pirates had an advantage with mochi earplugs created by Katakuri. To protect everyone, Bege transformed into his Big Father form and had his crew and allies get inside him.

Bege tried to attack Big Mom, but Katakuri blocked his cannons with mochi, and Perospero immobilized him with candy, leading to a siege by the Big Mom Pirates.

Big Mom regained her senses and attacked Bege, damaging his real body.

With time running out, Bege planned to transform back to his real body and have Caesar fly them to safety. Caesar initially refused, but the Vinsmoke Family offered to protect them, convincing him to agree.

Bege deactivated Big Father, and Caesar carried him away while the Vinsmokes shielded them from the Big Mom Pirates' attacks.

They reached the edge of the venue, but the Big Mom Pirates quickly defeated the Vinsmokes, leaving Bege and Caesar vulnerable.

The Tamatebako gift to Big Mom exploded, causing chaos, and the Chateau tipped over. Bege laughed as Big Mom fell far below, and Caesar flew them to safety.

Caesar took Bege to the northwest part of the island and returned his heart, allowing him to leave freely. Bege received word that the Big Mom Pirates survived the fall and parted ways with the Straw Hats, leaving a sign to lead the Big Mom Pirates away from them.

Bege, on tank treads, made his way to the coast, chased by Big Mom Pirates. Chiffon's sister, Pudding, asked Chiffon to help her make a new wedding cake to satisfy Big Mom's cravings. Bege was hesitant but allowed Chiffon to go, knowing she wanted to repay the Straw Hats for saving Lola.

Bege and his crew set sail on the Nostra Castello and were pursued by Charlotte Custard's fleet. They lost their pursuers and headed to Cacao Island to pick up Chiffon. However, Charlotte Oven captured Chiffon and threatened Bege to surrender. Bege seemingly agreed but sniped Oven with a bazooka once he came into view.

Bege piloted the Nostra Castello onto the island using its treads. Sanji brought Chiffon, Pudding, the WCI 31, and the unfinished wedding cake onto the Castello. They escaped from Cacao Island with Pound's help after Oven threatened to destroy them with his devil fruit power.

As the Nostra Castello sailed to bring the cake to Big Mom, Bege argued with Sanji, who refused to let him poison the cake. Sanji's whipped cream was powerful enough to knock out Big Mom with its flavor alone. The cake was completed, and they lured Big Mom towards the ship.

Initially, they planned to drop off the cake at Liqueur Island, but Chiffon suggested sailing further to Funwari Island to give the Straw Hats more distance from Big Mom. Bege agreed and stayed on course despite Big Mom's threats.

They reached Funwari Island and left the cake there, but the Nostra Castello suffered heavy damage from Big Mom's attacks and was left to sink. As Big Mom approached the cake, Chiffon watched her eat it.

Eventually, Bege pulled Chiffon away, and they escaped on a Tarte ship they hijacked. They managed to leave Totto Land without further trouble.

Levely Arc

After escaping, Bege read the newspaper detailing Luffy's exploits and was displeased with how Luffy was glorified and credited for the majority of the incident.

One Piece: Stampede (Non-Canon)

Bege and his crew attended the Pirates Festival on Delta Island. They took part in the main event, the Treasure Race, where pirates raced for Gol D. Roger's treasure and battled other Worst Generation members.

During the race, Buggy exposed himself after snatching the treasure, and Bege's crew chased after him. However, the event was interrupted when a galleon was thrown at the island, causing chaos.

They realized that the one responsible was Douglas Bullet, a formidable opponent. Bege and the other Worst Generation members teamed up to attack Bullet, but he revealed powerful Gasha Gasha no Mi powers, leading to their defeat.

After Bullet's defeat, Bege and the other pirates attempted to break through the Marines' encirclement around the island. With Sabo and Ann's help, they managed to escape safely.

"Gang" Bege's Oh My Family

Chiffon expressed her wish to find her sister Lola, and Bege agreed to help her. They took over a pirate ship and went to Thriller Bark but couldn't pass the Red Line due to the Levely.

They arrived at Dressrosa to gather supplies and learned that Lola was there. Bege and Chiffon searched for her and fought the Germ Pirates but got immobilized by infected citizens.

Later, they found Lola and Gotti, and after a reunion with their father, Pound, they escaped Dressrosa on the Fire Tank Pirates' ship, leaving Pound behind. Bege was happy to see the sisters embracing their father.

Bege later participated in Lola and Gotti's wedding.

Capone Bege’s Personality

Bege's personality can be described as a complex mix of refinement and sadism, with elements of sophistication and ruthlessness. On one hand, he appears to be a refined gentleman with a strong sense of etiquette, enjoying fine dining and dressing in fine suits.

He values cleanliness and hygiene and expects others to present themselves properly when meeting him. He prefers to avoid unnecessary confrontations and is willing to negotiate when not agitated. This indicates a level of reasonability and strategic thinking in his approach to handling situations.

Still from the anime.

However, beneath this refined facade lies a dark and sadistic nature. Bege can be extremely impatient and ill-tempered, and he doesn't hesitate to harm others, even his own crew if they provoke his anger.

He derives pleasure from causing chaos and destabilizing powerful factions. He enjoys watching the struggle for power that ensues from his actions and takes delight in the downfall of mighty and powerful figures.

His sadistic tendencies extend to a bloodthirsty nature, as he is known for decapitating animals for mere entertainment. He revels in the potential fall of his enemies and seems to derive satisfaction from seeing the bloodshed caused by his actions.

Despite these bloodthirsty traits, Bege does exhibit some level of mercy and self-control. He is willing to spare the subordinates of powerful leaders he targets and only retaliates fiercely when faced with attempts at revenge.

He is a master tactician, always on the lookout for weaknesses in his enemies and willing to exploit them to achieve his goals. He's not above resorting to hostage-taking, bluffing, or shooting people in the back if it serves his purpose. Bege's plans are meticulous and well-thought-out, and he takes great pride in his strategic wit.

Despite his ruthlessness and sadistic tendencies, Bege does display a sense of honor when it comes to keeping his promises and honoring deals. He is known to follow through with agreements, even if his schemes don't unfold as planned.

He also takes pride in being part of the Worst Generation, but not out of a thirst for fame or power. Instead, he values the effectiveness of his plans and tactics. Becoming a husband and father seems to have softened Bege to some extent.

He shows love and care towards his wife and son, and he may demonstrate appreciation for competent subordinates and outsiders with whom he has no hostile relationships. However, he resists being perceived as a "good person" and sees empathy as a weakness, as he believes such traits are not suitable for pirates.

Despite his seeming callousness towards others, Bege deeply cares for his family and crew. He is willing to risk his life to protect those close to him, and he refuses to abandon them in times of danger.

In summary, Bege is a complex character with a cunning and ruthless side, driven by a desire for chaos and power struggles. However, he also displays a sense of honor, love for his family, and an appreciation for competency in others, making him a multifaceted and intriguing individual in the world of One Piece.

Bege's appearance exudes the aura of a Mafia boss, reflecting his cunning and strategic nature. He is a short man with a stocky build, giving him a sturdy and formidable presence. His hairstyle consists of oiled-up and slicked-back hair, reminiscent of a classic crime don.

His facial features are stern and serious, accentuated by a sharp, hooking beak-like nose and a five o'clock stubble on his upper lip. He dresses in a sophisticated black-and-white pinstriped attire, which gives him a refined and classy look.

He adds an elegant touch to his outfit with a green scarf around his neck, which he tucks inside his suit, resembling a cravat. Bege's fingers are adorned with expensive golden rings, each mounted with precious stones, reflecting his taste for luxury.

During his travels, Bege wears a pirate captain's coat with red and gold trimming, further emphasizing his status and authority. He complements his look with a fedora hat, adding to his Mafia-like appearance. A notable accessory that he is often seen with is a cigar, which he smokes regularly, except when eating.

In his childhood appearance, Bege had curlier hair and a shorter, rounder head. Even as a child, he had a penchant for playing with guns and knives, and building fortress-like structures with blocks, foreshadowing his future Devil Fruit abilities.

After the timeskip, Bege grew a thick goatee, adding a more mature and seasoned touch to his look. He also updated his hat to a darker version. During the Zou Arc, he sported sunglasses resembling those of Pekoms, a fellow character in the series.

Additionally, during the Whole Cake Island Arc, Bege wore a rose on the left breast of his suit, possibly as a stylish and symbolic addition to his appearance.

Capone Bege’s Abilities

Bege is a highly skilled and influential character in the One Piece world. As the captain of his crew and leader of one of the Five Families in the West, he commands great authority and holds significant power over the Underworld operations in West Blue. Bege's leadership abilities are evident in how he maintains control over his subordinates.

In combat, Bege has showcased remarkable marksmanship skills, able to accurately shoot even formidable opponents like Katakuri, who possesses advanced Kenbunshoku Haki. His proficiency with firearms, including pistols and Tommy guns, adds to his strategic advantage and makes him a formidable opponent.

Bege's Devil Fruit ability, the Shiro Shiro no Mi, allows him to transform into "Big Father," a massive fortress-like form. In this form, he houses cannons and various firearms within his body, enabling his crew to launch surprise attacks and ambushes.

He can also let his subordinates use these weapons from within his fortress body, further enhancing their offensive capabilities. Besides his combat prowess, Bege is highly perceptive, aware of his surroundings, and can detect the presence of others even when they are trying to remain hidden.

This acute awareness aids him in negotiations and confrontations. Moreover, Bege demonstrates a strong will, as he remained conscious when faced with Big Mom's Haoshoku Haki, unlike many others who fainted.

Physically, Bege shows resilience and pain tolerance, as he calmly strategizes and plans while withstanding attacks, such as when Big Mom smashed apart his Big Father Form.

Bege also possesses a Seastone spear, a weapon that can neutralize the powers of Devil Fruit users, giving him an advantage against opponents with such abilities.

Intelligence

Bege's intelligence is one of his most prominent and defining traits. He is a masterful strategist, relying on clever tactics, trickery, and psychological warfare in battle rather than direct physical force. His tactical genius has allowed him to defeat several infamous pirate captains of the Grand Line and eliminate rival mafias as a mafia don, showcasing his ingenuity and resourcefulness.

His observant and analytical nature allows him to detect potential weaknesses in powerful enemies and devise strategies to exploit those weaknesses. He pays close attention to his surroundings and can deduce an opponent's actions based on their unconscious behavior. This level of understanding of psychological warfare gives him an edge in planning and executing his schemes.

Bege is also a deceptive master of bluffing and coercion, capable of tricking even highly crafty individuals like Caesar Clown into surrendering. He is resourceful and will employ all available tools, weapons, and convenient people to ensure the success of his plans.

He keeps trump cards hidden from both friends and foes, using them strategically when the situation demands it. His ability to think and adapt quickly in dire situations is a testament to his sharp intellect. Bege is well-prepared and covers all his bases to maximize his chances of success.

He keeps certain information hidden to surprise his enemies, such as his ship's ability to travel on land with tank treads. As a leader, Bege's intelligence is evident in how he utilizes his Devil Fruit abilities to launch ambushes and surprise attacks carried out by his numerous and efficient subordinates.

He corners enemies quickly and takes hostages to increase leverage over stronger targets, displaying his tactical prowess and opportunistic sense.

Devil Fruit

Bege's Devil Fruit ability, the Shiro Shiro no Mi, grants him incredible powers that effectively turn him into a miniature fortress. His body is equipped with cannons, and he possesses a pocket dimension inside himself that resembles the interior of a castle, complete with furniture and other features.

When people or objects enter his body, they are shrunken down, and they return to their normal size once they leave. This unique ability allows him to house a large number of people, including subordinates, prisoners, and even horses, giving him a powerful force at his disposal.

Capone Bege in One Piece.
Still from the anime.

Inside his castle body, Bege has control over everything, enabling him to conduct private meetings and strategize with his subordinates. The interior of the castle body remains unaffected by any exterior punishment that Bege experiences. For example, if he takes a hit from an opponent and gets knocked down, the people inside the castle do not feel any turbulence, except for the manifestation of Bege inside the castle, who experiences the same effects as his outer body.

One of the most impressive aspects of Bege's ability is his capacity to transform his body and gain fortress-like attributes. He can manifest cannon ports and a drawbridge, providing him with additional defensive capabilities. Furthermore, he can change his body to have tank treads, allowing him to move with incredible power and mobility.

Additionally, Bege can transform into a gigantic fortress-like golem, becoming an imposing force with immense defensive power. This transformation makes him a formidable opponent on the battlefield, capable of withstanding attacks and launching powerful counter-assaults.
