Inuarashi in One Piece

Inuarashi and Nekomamushi were close friends when they were young. They learned about a pact between the Mink Tribe and the Kozuki Family and became curious about it. They left their home on Zou and went on a journey to Wano Country, but then got shipwrecked on Kuri Beach.

They were found by a man named Kawamatsu but the three were later caught and persecuted by humans. Fortunately, Kozuki Oden rescued them and brought them back to Kuri, where they became Oden's loyal retainers.

When the retainers were running low on funds, they attempted to steal money from Shimotsuki Yasuie. However, they were caught in the act. Instead of punishing them, Yasuie took an unexpected approach. He allowed them to take the money they intended to steal and encouraged them to use it to become better individuals, not just for themselves but for their leader, Oden, and their homeland, Wano.

Taking Yasuie's advice to heart, the retainers educated themselves and trained to become skilled warriors. They even visited the capital with Oden. During their time with Oden, the retainers had the opportunity to meet the Whitebeard Pirates. During this encounter, they all shared a grand feast.

It was during this time that Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, the two minks among Oden's retainers, gained valuable insights from Marco about the vastness of the world. Inspired by this newfound perspective, they later sneaked onto Whitebeard's ship, hoping to accompany Oden on his journey.

After their daring maneuver, Whitebeard ultimately welcomed Oden into his crew, and the two minks revealed themselves as stowaways. They set sail together with the Whitebeard Pirates, embarking on adventures across the seas. Throughout their two-year journey, significant events occurred, including the birth of Oden's child, Momonosuke, and the issuance of Oden's bounty.

Around 26 years ago, a significant turning point arrived. The Whitebeard Pirates found themselves in a clash with the Roger Pirates on an island. However, this confrontation evolved into a surprising turn of events—an exchange of gifts. In light of these developments, Oden made the life-altering decision to join forces with Gol D. Roger on his ultimate journey. This decision also led to Inuarashi and Nekomamushi secretly boarding Roger's ship as stowaways.

Accompanying Roger, the group embarked on a series of adventures. They explored various locations, including Skypiea, Water 7, and Fish-Man Island. During their travels, the two minks shared crucial information about a special Poneglyph located on Zou. As their journey progressed, Roger's crew also encountered challenges, including an illness that befell Toki, a member of their group.

Due to Toki's illness, the crew made a stop at Wano. At this juncture, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi chose to remain in Wano to care for Toki and her children. This decision meant that they did not accompany Oden to the final destination of their journey, Laugh Tale. However, before parting ways with Roger's crew, the minks provided Roger with a letter of introduction to the Mink Tribe.

Inuarashi and Nekomamushi told Kikunojo about Izou's time with the Whitebeard Pirates. About six months before Oden completed his journey, the retainers grew furious with Kurozumi Orochi for his misuse of power as shogun. During this period, Inuarashi and Kawamatsu remained at Oden Castle while the rest confronted Orochi in the Flower Capital.

Later, an attack by the Beasts Pirates on Oden Castle was repelled by Inuarashi and Kawamatsu. Upon Oden's return, except for Denjiro and Ashura Doji, who were elsewhere, the retainers updated him on Wano's condition. Oden directed them to safeguard his family and Kuri before he went alone to the capital.

Despite Oden's eccentric behavior and declining reputation, the retainers stayed loyal for five years. Around twenty years ago, Oden decided to confront Kaidou. The retainers joined him in the journey toward Onigashima. En route in the Udon region, they faced Kaidou and his crew in a fierce battle, ultimately being overpowered. Following the defeat, Oden and the Scabbards were imprisoned in the Flower Capital and condemned to be boiled alive within three days.

At the execution, Oden struck a deal with Kaidou. While Oden endured the boiling oil, he shielded his retainers and instructed them to escape. Oden survived the ordeal, revealing the reason behind Wano's isolation and urging them to open its borders. However, Orochi ordered a firing squad. Oden valiantly protected his retainers once more, commanding them to flee. As they fled, they witnessed Oden's execution.

Following Oden's tragic demise, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi engaged in disputes while returning to Oden Castle. Captured by Jaki, they were left behind by the other retainers. Eventually escaping, they barely made it back to Zou in critical condition.

The quarrel between Inuarashi and Nekomamushi continued to the point that they fought whenever they saw one another. To address this, they established a rule where Inuarashi would govern during the day and Nekomamushi during the night.

During the Timeskip

When Jack and the Beasts Pirates attacked the Mokomo Dukedom to find Raizo, Inuarashi confronted Jack while his allies fought Jack's crew. Inuarashi offered Jack a deal to stop the destruction in exchange for help finding Raizo, but Jack attacked Inuarashi. They clashed until 6 pm when Inuarashi withdrew, letting Nekomamushi take over.

The battle with the Beast Pirates lasted five days, with Nekomamushi and Inuarashi alternating against Jack. On the fifth day, Jack used poisonous gas to weaken the Mink Tribe, including Inuarashi and Nekomamushi. Jack tortured them, and Inuarashi lost his leg. Jack left when he heard Doflamingo was captured.

After Sanji's group arrived, they drove off the Beasts Pirates and neutralized the poison, saving the Mink Tribe. However, Inuarashi fell into a deep coma.

Dressrosa Arc

Jack left Zou after hearing about Doflamingo's defeat and capture. The Straw Hat Pirates, led by Sanji, arrived on Zou and helped the minks by driving away the remaining pirates and healing their wounds.

Zou Arc

On the day when Monkey D. Luffy's group arrived on Zou, Inuarashi woke up from his coma. Chopper, Miyagi, and Tristan visited him to check on his condition.

When the Straw Hat Pirates and Wanda arrived, Inuarashi expressed gratitude for saving their country. Luffy commented on his strength, which Inuarashi humbly dismissed. Wanda reminded him that the minks were winning against the Beasts Pirates until Jack used poisonous gas.

Inuarashi noticed Brook's skeletal form and expressed a desire to chew on his bones later. He also recognized Luffy's straw hat and shared that he had sailed with Nekomamushi and met Shanks. Before Luffy could explain Shanks giving him the hat, Inuarashi fell asleep as dusk approached. He briefly woke to explain how Luffy's group indirectly made Jack leave Zou before falling asleep again.

The next morning, Bariete rang the town bells, alerting Inuarashi. At Kurau City, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi locked eyes and exchanged heated words. They nearly engaged in a deadly fight but stopped when Kin'emon revealed his connection to the Kozuki Family. Kin'emon asked about Raizo, and Inuarashi tearfully assured everyone that Raizo was safe.

While talking with Kin'emon, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi started arguing again. Kozuki Momonosuke scolded them, and they apologized and called a truce to honor their lord's wishes. They guided the samurais and Straw Hat Pirates to a hidden area in the Whale Forest, where Raizo was hidden.

Inuarashi explained the significance of the red Poneglyph, revealing it was one of four that combined to locate Laugh Tale. After Robin deciphered the Poneglyph, Inuarashi revealed its connection to Laugh Tale. Emotionally, he reacted to the samurais revealing Oden's execution by Kaidou and Orochi.

After revealing that Oden was part of Gol D. Roger's crew, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi shared Oden's wish to open Wano to the world. They formed an alliance with the samurais and declared that the Mink Tribe would join in the fight against Kaidou and Wano's shogun. Inuarashi and Nekomamushi assured that the minks would show their strength when facing the Beasts Pirates next time.

Momonosuke's determination to avenge his parents and protect his followers moved Inuarashi to tears. Luffy, Law, Momonosuke, and Inuarashi formed the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance. Inuarashi was surprised by Luffy's courage to challenge an Emperor and puzzled by Luffy mentioning Pekomamushi.

Later, after leaving a hidden room, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi reminisced about their adventures with Oden, even though they never reached Laugh Tale. Inuarashi danced with Nekomamushi while discussing their past.

Nami's concerns about reaching the end of the Grand Line led Inuarashi to explain that an island before Laugh Tale held vital information. He praised Nami's navigation skills and revealed their intention to involve Marco in the alliance. Suddenly, Zou shook intensely, an unfamiliar event that puzzled Inuarashi.

The tremors revealed that Luffy could hear Zunesha's voice. Learning that Jack attacked Zunesha, Inuarashi readied the minks to fight. Surprisingly, Zunesha sank Jack's fleet, responding to Momonosuke's command. Inuarashi was amazed by Zunesha's unexpected will.

Momonosuke chose to stay on Zou to learn more from Zunesha. Inuarashi vowed to guard Zou from Kaidou and return with Momonosuke to Wano when the time was right. Since Zou's inhabitants didn't use Den Den Mushi for communication, they wondered how the separate teams would stay in touch.

As the Sanji Retrieval Team left Zou, Inuarashi, and others were surprised by Luffy's unexpected leap from Zunesha. Inuarashi stood guard at Zou's entrance, concerned about how the Beasts Pirates located them and the possibility of their return.

Wano Country Arc

Inuarashi and his group arrived at Wano Country. While at Kuri Beach, Inuarashi remembered his initial encounter with Oden. They later discovered Tama, a wounded girl, and took her to a forest for treatment. During this time, Inuarashi criticized Kaidou's actions.

A confrontation occurred between Inuarashi and Ashura Doji at Mt. Atama, but their fight was halted by Kin'emon's intervention. The Musketeers then orchestrated thefts from the Beasts Pirates, leaving evidence that Ashura's gang was responsible.

Learning that the Beasts Pirates had uncovered Kin'emon's secret message, Inuarashi received this information. As events unfolded, Mt. Atama was set ablaze, prompting Inuarashi, Kin'emon, and Ashura to journey to Bakura Town. There, they witnessed the execution of Shimotsuki Yasuie and mourned his death.

Ashura engaged Inuarashi and Kin'emon in a conversation about the SMILE fruits. Amidst discussions and playful arguments, Ashura led them to the graves of their fallen comrades. He recounted their past attempt to combat Kaidou, sharing the tragic outcome.

Choosing to rejoin the cause, Ashura's decision brought celebration between him and Inuarashi, while Kin'emon playfully teased them. Ashura then unveiled ships and blueprints intended for an assault on Kaidou's residence in Onigashima.

Raizo informed Kin'emon about the allies amassed at Udon, which surprised Inuarashi upon hearing the numbers. This development spurred them to attend a significant alliance meeting at Amigasa Village.

The group received news that Kozuki Hiyori was alive from Roronoa Zoro and Kawamatsu. On the day of the planned raid on Onigashima, Inuarashi and key members of the group marched to the meeting point along with Momonosuke, Kin'emon, Kanjuro, Raizo, Shinobu, Kikunojo, Kawamatsu, and Ashura.

Upon reaching the meeting spot, they were shocked to find their ships and allies missing. Despite this setback, their determination to proceed with the raid remained strong. They set sail for Onigashima, leaving Momonosuke behind at the port. Amidst the journey, Kin'emon's suspicions of a traitor within their ranks grew stronger.

In a shocking revelation, Kanjuro admitted to being the mole and revealed that he had captured Momonosuke with the intent of taking him to Onigashima. This confession led to a tense confrontation. However, before the situation could fully unfold, an unexpected attack occurred.

The Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, and Kid Pirates launched an assault on the Beasts Pirates' ships that were attacking the Scabbards, providing a moment of respite. Kyoshiro, who was previously an enigma, suddenly emerged as Denjiro and disclosed his role in freeing prisoners and rallying rebels at Habu Port.

The tide turned in the favor of the alliance as their forces arrived in full strength, converging on Onigashima with a massive fleet. Amidst the chaos, Kanjuro fled the scene with Momonosuke on a drawn crane, launching an attack with ink arrows. Momonosuke urged the alliance to press forward without him.

Facing challenges, including an attack from a Beasts Pirates ship armed with long-range cannons, Jinbe came to the aid of the rebels, contributing to the ongoing battle. Following this, Shishilian and Hyogoro boarded the Polar Tang, where the Scabbards discussed their plan with Trafalgar Law.

With the torii gate guards defeated by the Straw Hats, the Heart Pirates, and most of the Scabbards, they proceeded to the back of Onigashima aboard the Polar Tang. There, Nekomamushi contacted them who had just arrived at the scene.

Later, the submarine approached Onigashima, and Law teleported himself and the Scabbards to the back entrance. They were soon joined by Marco, Nekomamushi, and Izou. After Marco left to investigate a sighting at sea, Kanjuro and a group of Beasts Pirates confronted them. While Kikunojo faced off against Kanjuro, the others engaged in battle with the enemy forces.

Kanjuro and his allies were eventually defeated. Kin'emon and Denjiro rejoined Inuarashi's group. They entered Kaidou's castle, fought their way to the Performance Stage, and launched a fierce attack on Kaidou. The Scabbards managed to wound Kaidou as they fell to a lower floor. On the roof of the Skull Dome, they confronted Kaidou in his dragon form, with the assistance of the Mink Tribe.

Jack arrived on the roof with reinforcements, but Inuarashi and Nekomamushi transformed into their Sulong forms and wounded him severely. With Jack out of the way, they resumed their battle against Kaidou. The Scabbards executed a coordinated attack, striking Kaidou's scar with the same technique Oden had used.

Kaidou retaliated with a devastating roar that created wind scythes aimed at the Scabbards. The battle continued, with Kaidou overwhelming the Scabbards in his human form. Luffy, Law, and other allies arrived on the roof, and Law teleported the Scabbards to safety upon Luffy's request.

The Scabbards found themselves in a treasure room on the second floor, where they encountered a mysterious figure. After recovering, they witnessed what appeared to be Oden, but it turned out to be a drawing created by Kanjuro. The drawing contained dynamite, but Ashura sacrificed himself to save the others by moving it away before it exploded.

The Scabbards set out to find Kanjuro but were intercepted by Jack. Inuarashi chose to stay behind and face Jack, knowing he couldn't use his Sulong form within the castle. Their battle was complicated by Tama's ability to control some of the Beasts Pirates, causing confusion among Jack and his underlings.

Inuarashi tossed Jack out of the treasure room, and when Ashura blew a hole in the roof, Inuarashi's Sulong form was reactivated. Storm clouds caused by Kaidou and Momonosuke's dragon forms initially weakened him, but Luffy and Kaidou's Haki clash cleared the clouds, allowing Inuarashi to regain his Sulong form and defeat Jack with a strong attack.

Nekomamushi shared the news that Luffy beat Kaidou and Momonosuke was safe. An erupting volcano marked where Onigashima was. To calm the panicked citizens, Momonosuke and his group flew to the Flower Capital. Denjiro declared Momonosuke the new Shogun via a broadcast and they all entered the shogun's castle.

A week later, Inuarashi joined the festivities, and when Luffy woke up, he toasted the alliance and Wano. Admiral Ryokugyu showed up, leading to a confrontation that Shanks ultimately resolved outside Wano. Back in the Flower Capital, Inuarashi was part of the group with Kin'emon explaining his absence and they revealed Carrot as Zou's new leader.

Later, Inuarashi, along with the other Scabbards, Yamato, stood with Momonosuke as he became Wano's new Shogun.

Despite being the mightiest warrior on Zou, Inuarashi remains remarkably modest. He's uncomfortable with praise and quick to downplay his own strength. This humility is also expressed through his readiness to set aside his sword to negotiate with Jack, showcasing his willingness to prioritize peace and reason over conflict.

Notably, Inuarashi's personality is marked by his empathetic nature. He's appalled by barbaric behavior, as seen in his reaction to Jack's violence. Even in amusing circumstances, like his inclination to view Brook as a potential meal, he displays empathy by letting Brook recover first.

Inuarashi is a large and weathered canine mink. He wears blue sunglasses and has black ears, a white beard, and a bushy tail. He proudly displays the Kozuki Family crest.

During his clash with Jack, he wears a dark striped suit with a frilled collar, belt, cape, and helmet. After recovering from a coma, he dons a king-like robe with bandages.

He lost his left leg due to torture by Jack and replaced it with a sword.

Inuarashi, one of the former two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom, is a tremendously powerful and influential figure within the Mink Tribe. He held a significant amount of authority and acted as the primary leader during the daytime. Nekomamushi
